I don't think anyone knew when the neons were releasing, I just happen to get on the retro forum and saw the post about them being up on NDC, so i orderedmy two pairs with the quickness.

I've used them MANY times on a variety of different shoe surfaces, and I have never noticed any type of 'cover ups' whatsoever. Nothing butpraise for them!!
