Not an expert by any stretch but none of the pediatricians I worked with wanted mothers breastfeeding anywhere near that age. I can't cite any studies off the top but that was my n=1 experience

I'm not saying I'd want my wife to BF for that long but who am I or anyone else to judge.
After looking it up there are arguments for both sides.

Lets not forget it was not too long ago that Pediatricians were telling mothers to not breastfeed at all.

Breastfeeding is meant to be a good head start on a child's development. After a certain point it's just weird.

Not only that, he is standing up sucking a boob. I mean standing!! Not being held or swaddled. Full on I can run to a boobie, suck and grab the remote and change the channel to Play with Me Sesame.

"Sucking on a boob" is EXACTLY what you're doing though... at what age is the child going to realize that there are sexual tensions associated with sucking on a boob, whether you're breastfeeding or not.

Agreed to an extent.  Our bodies have nerves and a reaction.  If the mother continues to allow her son/daughter to keep sucking, then does her body continue to produce milk?  I'm not too sure if it does, but nature does and will allow the mother to return to her natural state, and I think this coincides with weening the kid.

But if the mother feels aroused by the act, then it's a sign that sexual tension and sexual innuendo is taking place.  NT is filled w/ guys, maybe some girl can chime in as to weather or not, her flood gates open when her son/daughter is being fed.  Does sexual orientation matter?
  

A mother will stop producing milk once its not being used. Some women will continue producing milk regardless, but for the most part milk will produce as long as shes feeding.

And what is this "sexual tension" people are talking about. You guys are straight horn dogs to think mothers get off from breastfeeding their children. Thats like getting off from giving your child a bath.

Go into the history books or google and read about incest and why things like that take place.  There is a sexual attraction between the opposite sex.  If humans were as PURE as you believe them to be, there would be no horrific stories by nature in the news!!  The reason why incest stopped was because of birth defects and human rationale.  Think about it.

Like I said, it might be okay giving your child a bath and seeing them naked, but at a certain age, I would not put myself or my child in such a situation that would make them uncomfortable.  Given my example, would Kate Upton actually expose your boob to her dad?  And what would the dad feel?  How would each of them feel?  The point I'm making is, there is a sexual attraction.

What if you fell in love w/ a girl that was your missing cousin?  You wouldn't deny the attraction until you knew it was your own kin.
