Pro-life with the exception of rape....any other excuse you give me as to why two people conceived and they were not supposed to is irrelevant....use protection or get a **** vasectomy
thats not even an option. all those pro life people are pro life with no exceptions cuz they on some religious ****

What was personal about saying you made an ignorant statement as you have a longgggg history of doing? You are hyper sensitive relax

Light bulb!

If you have to add an "if" statement, it should be legal for women to get, regardless. The government shouldn't be policing women's bodies.

Women are going to get abortions ANYWAY, as history has shown. Better to have them done in clean, sterile, safe environments.

One's moral beliefs shouldn't govern the entire country. If YOU don't believe in abortion, then YOU don't get one.

Yes I agree with this, I'm gonna have my reservations and feels towards people who think is cool to simply abort, but really being situational, leaves room for the court to make a decision even in a situation like rape if it isn't proven and that would suck, so I retract what I said in my previous post and although I personally don't agree, the woman should have the right, unfortunately I know many children will be aborted simply because of the irresponsibility of two immature individuals and that's what irritates me.

I kinda understand where ksteezy ksteezy is coming from. Personally, I feel if you're using abortions as a form of birth control, then I don't agree with it. However, I still believe it should be a choice and available.

Yeah no I'm not out here waving a bible...lol

What's the gestational age limit to get an abortion now?....some of these abortions be happening at a point where the fetus can practically take a course in statistics :x

The maximum is 12 weeks in my country. In life-threatening cases that limit can be exceeded but only if there is a very serious risk of fatality.

Abortions don't come without consequences though, as women who have had them have riskier subsequent pregnancies, and some women can even become sterile.

I'm personally pro choice, within reason

if you're pro life, that's your prerogative..

but what bothers me regarding this discussion (and with the gay marriage issue), is the blatant hypocrisy of some folks staunchly entrenched in the GOP/right wing side of things.. I went to boarding school and college with some pretty well off kids from florida and throughout the states (overwhelmingly white in high school.. a little more balanced in college)

I was amazed how conveniently those beliefs went out the window when they somehow were faced with either issue (either personally or through a close family member)

Is it savage when pro-lifers argue that a "fetus is a human being" and I still don't care, let 'em abort.

I wouldn't consider a fresh laid egg a chicken. I apply that same thought to an embryo/early stage fetus

Yea, depends on the situation.

If you were just out here playing for the Chicago Bears and just popped up, naw, you gotta deal with the consequences of your action, but if someone was raped by an uncle or something then, yes, by all means, do what you gotta do.

choice. There are so many "if" situations that can be created...also, who makes YOU (pro-lifers) to determine what the IFs that are acceptable, and which are not?

all it comes down to imo.

How would that be determined? Can she just claim is was raped and get it? Or we need to see "proof"? Sounds like a slippery slope

Very very rationale reasoning and logic here that MOST will not accept by choice.

Pro common sense.  If you don't want to be responsible, then deal with the consequences.
I feel like pro-lifers aren't thinking about the kids enough but focus on the parents instead.

I fully agree that incompetent parents shouldn't get kids in the first place but it happens and there's not much we can do about it.

My focus when debating abortion is on the kids. Is it really worth having a kid be born into a household that does not want the child in the first place, is generally incompetent or can't financially support him just to have the parents "deal with the consequences"?

I think the main focus when debating abortion should be the child, not the parents. Generally speaking ofcourse, women that bear a child from a rapist should always be given the choice for abortion and the focus is on the mother in that case.

I'm pro-life...I wouldn't want my seed to be aborted. I don't take joy in the thought of abortion.

But I'm pro-choice because what I think isn't the end all, be all. I have no right to tell anyone else how they're going to approach a subject that affects them personally.

Exactly.

I don't like the idea of abortion, but I'm dam sure not going to let my hypothetical bias affect someone elses life.

well you thought wrong. pro-lifers do think about the child...thats why they think abortion = killing because you are taking a life away or potential life (however you look at it).

So, that means you are pro-choice according to OP

People who are pro life should have to register as such and be forced to agree to an impromptu adoption of any newborn child (regardless of gender, race, or health complications) within 30 days of notification.

I agree, be held accountable for the child's well being. It's her choice and I hate seeing children be mistreated. I'd rather they abort, knowing they can't provide a comfortable life.
