The sad thing about the CCP and China is the common man will follow anything the CCP says because they think they got it made now that they can buy property (which the government reclaims after 90 years), drive cars (usually some Chinese knock off brand) and eat all they want (poorly controlled food sourcing).
I've spend extensive time living in China and interacting with locals. This is actually what they think.
