Basketball Thread About Nothing

Haven't hooped since March/April. I have stayed very active but running up and down that court is a different animal.

Yall been playing?
Courts been shutdown since late February 2020 around my way. Only can wear a mask and 1 person per half court as of recently. With this vaccine getting distributed fairly quickly, hoping its business as usual by May - July timeframe.

2-3 Dribbles Max

so i have been thinking, what's the point of doing this? i get that it simulates a real basketball possession, but, unless you are preparing for a "real" game, i don't get the point. also, i think it makes defense easier for defenders, especially those who foul and don't move their feet. im not complaining since every game of 1s or pick up game in general, there will be some kind of fouling going on but i think unlimited dribbles helps in this regard especially if you have handles/good change of direction or speed.

i have done both (unlimited & limited dribbles) since my playing days were over if it matters

hasn't happened to me in a decade plus but i think it might be more relevant in our time now. what are your thoughts on people fully recording a pick up game that you are playing in?

You be watching him and Nick Briz, dude with 1 arm, and AMilli or something like that dominating runs down in Florida? And they usually bring a dunker, Sutherland be down there and this springy light skinned kat

That's Wild

I'd Be In Trouble Cuz I Say And-1 All The Time Regardless Of If It Was A Foul Or Not.

Want To Make All My Buckets Look And Sound Tough...Never Expect Possession Tho.

One of the dumbest rules I've ever witnessed was the line is not out of bounds.

The court extended past the out of bounds line on the hoop's side (it's an outdoor half court). So these fools were dribbling behind the hoop when they would get stuck in the paint. Basically using the hoop as a damn screen.

I was dumbfounded. :smh:

Right but you don't expect to get the ball back after you miss, right?

I call and-1 because I feel I'm going to make bucket on you and would be going to line if this was an organize game.

I don't want the possessions just letting you know I can get to the rim.

Nonsense. If you foul somebody, you fouled them. If you smack my hand on a shot attempt and I miss, why wouldn't that be a foul?

Nonsense.

easily one of my biggest pet peeves when playing

Correct. It's A Plea Copped Just In Case I Sellout On The Shot

"I Woulda Made It But I Got Fouled Even Though I Aint Call It."

Yup. And it’s an Antoine Walker shimmy if you make it...

How y'all feel about the hand is apart of the ball myth
it IS bro when in contact with the ball. If I get hand and ball, I'm not saying anything. if you call it, I won't really argue much though. But if you do it to me, I'm playing through, I just missed if I miss.

And that 1 armed dude is in HS, I think the D.R or maybe brazil. I am talking about the Florida Ball Is Life crew, his name is Zach Hodskins. He played college and pro with 1 arm, and Nick Briz (used to have Youtube and FB ads selling a vertical leap program, probably realized YT/FB views money is longer), and a few other pros and youtubers.

The only time the hand is apart of the ball is on layups. If the hands were apart of the ball, I'm slapping the **** outta your hands every single time.

Exactly. Its all in 1. I'm aiming for the hands but if its hand and down to wrist, I'm still hoopin til you make a call. Good d

outside of layups, people would hit hand during/after a shot, when one is passing or dribbling but think it's clean because of the hand is apart of ball myth.
