I don't want to get into some long drawn out argument but I meant to say that Slavery, which is of course among other things, the sale of another human being, the lowest and most extreme form of capitalism, but it indeed is capitalism. One could even make the argument that we haven't come very far...This don't even make sense but maybe you can make sense of it at a later point.
Cuz movies are not ppl.
Plus capitalism did not begat slavery
If capitalism is a form of slavery you're part taking in it right now unless you stole the computer you're using, stole the internet connection, and are stealing the electricity.
Can't get right
Also you still haven't provided any solutions.
I didn't even want to get in to that part since ppl will get on the hype is just hype and reviews are subjective.
The movie could be a masterpiece and I'm betting once the thread for the movie is made or if it happens in here there'll be a few ppl hating like crazy on movie to dumb complaints to nitpicks.
Contrarians gonna contrarian.
I am anti-capitalist knowing that I live in a society which is capitalist and that I myself am a product of capitalist culture but that doesn't mean that I have to contribute towards its conditions nor perpetuate its claims to be neutral...
Any film which claims to be "revolutionary" whether implicitly or explicitly yet joins forces with the very propagator of oppression ( mental or physical) it attempts to wipe out is nothing more than spectacle at worst and naive at best.
I'm sure he has the best intentions and I have nothing against him or the subject but this film will meet the fate of every other popular "subversive" Black film set in some frozen historical past all while lining the pockets of a multinational, billion dollar corporation. Middle class America will say racism is terrible, despicable, people will see it, discussions will be had but after all is said and done it will be just another movie that capitulated to American Dollarism.
