Did Hitler inadvertently help Africa by starting WWII?

France, England etc were broke after the war and couldn't afford to keep running their colonies in Africa and had to give them up which led to widespread independence.

First, Germany had African colonies, and they did awful things in Namibia. Otto von Bismarck was the orchestrator of the scramble for Africa. Ever heard of Rhineland Bastards? No African should ever thank any pre-WWII German government for anything.

African colonial forces took part in WWII, and witnessing the mortality of the white man gave them the confidence to be more assertive in their claims for independence, especially since colonial powers had promised that in return for helping them beat the Nazis, the colonies would gain their independence. However, colonial powers dragged their feet when it was time to pay up because colonies represented a net positive in raw materials and human capital (guess who rebuilt all those destroyed European cities).

Eventually, that assertiveness turned into militant movements and in the case of France, full blown independence wars in Algeria and Indochina. It's the cost of these conflicts and the prospect of fighting more of them throughout their colonies that got the French government to replace the strategy of conventional military response against pro-independence groups with what will become Francafrique: independence in exchange for unconditional support for leaders who would place French interests ahead of their peoples'

Don't give a damn about them. They f'd each other in their war to assert dominance and all the colonies in Africa, Asia, the Carribean were let go since they couldn't afford to keep them

She don’t understand that a lot of street dudes is ponks and they snitch on each other at an alarming rate

The optics that these people have about hood dudes and thugs is always funny to me. It does not mean that they’re tough or invincible
