Black Culture Discussion Thread

When you say Texas is supposed to be the front line of defense, what do you mean? Wouldn't that be a FEDERAL issue and not a state concern?
It never was a state concern; the issue is that like everything else, Abbott has used the issue of border crossings to grandstand, distract Texans, and help the national GOP score political points.

If you care to look at Biden's record on illegal border crossings, it has been a net positive, and he's achieved it without the need for inhumane policies like family separation. One of those changes was just updating the prescreening process immigration officers used to figure out who was a legitimate asylum candidate vs who was trying their luck.

When you explain this to people though, they prefer to believe the sensationalism they see every day on the "news." There's little anyone can do against that, especially when they refuse to take factual information in their own understanding of issues.

Still missing the point because you looking at what you’re being told to look at which exactly what you’re not supposed to do during a slight of hand. Yes, illegals are be bussed to sanctuary cities but WHO is putting them on that bus? REPUBLICAN *** TEXAS and tax payers are also paying it. What are these sanctuary cities supposed to do, send them right back? Tax payers will still be paying for it. Places like Texas are supposed to be the front line of defense, but instead, Texas is bee-lining them to these cities, over loading the system, knowing damn well most of them wouldn’t have made it that far and then pointing at Democrats like, “See what they’re doing!”, when in reality, they’re the ones breaking the system so they can use it for fear mongering. If they REALLY wanted to slow down illegal immigration, they’d help Mexico get of The Cartel instead of telling everyone they’re coming to take your jobs. “Our BLACK jobs.” No is supporting illegal immigration, we just not falling for the banana in the tailpipe. If you really been keep score, illegal immigration blew up in 2021, right YA BOY(you might as well just come on out and admit it now)decided he wanted to build a wall and have the people he wants to keep out build it. Its all good tho. Folks gon’ learn and we gon’ watch.

What’s with all this “being told to look at” nonsense that some of you dudes are talking about. I just said specifically what I see, and witness here in DC. Dudes gotta learn to stop projecting and go with what is being said in response to you.

To answer the point……which mayors set up the sanctuary cities?? Which mayors signed the document saying they would PROTECT illegal immigrants??

Yes I expect these illegals to be sent back to wherever on the buses right back. Not to be provided housing and other resources in hopes of staying permanently.

Which is?

Goalposts are movin yo. Couple folks got mad at the way I called out those folks. I apologized so we could move on and talk about the issues, not focus on trying to hone in on a statement within that statement.

Back to the actual issues at hand.

I just wanna know, for those of yall that don’t live in border states, what is happening in your life that makes you so passionate about illegal immigrants? :lol

I live around a ton of immigrants, some of which probably aren’t here legally, and border policy, or whatever, never crosses my mind. Hating Mexicans ain’t gonna make them white folk let you in their club.

this isnt talked about enough.

ill give you one im working on right now.

it commonly said black people never got their 40 acres. that the Homestead Act of 1862 didnt apply to black people.

fact is, over 6000 families received their 40 acres from the government

yet do a search on this subject and you’ll find more videos saying we never got anything than we did

everyone from Martin and Malcolm to Umar and Claud Anderson

we dont preserve our own history, we expect the descendants of our slave owners to do it.

then if they do and get it wrong, we get mad.

listen to the lady describing where and how she came across the footage, by accident

why wouldnt her grandfather/ father tell them?

our culture is forever stuck in a mode of self pity, we love the stories of our struggles and ignore our triumphs, its bizarre

if someone within our culture, a known ally, attempts to champion our victories hes called a ****. its so strange

its like being in a fight where you took some big punches, but you won the fight.

most would celebrate their victory
we’re too focused on the punches we took

You had to be a US Citizen to utilize the Homestead Act. Black folks weren't granted that protection until after the Civil War and the 14th Amendment. So this was years of White people having access to the lands out West before Black people did. 6000 sounds cool until you realize almost 2 million White people got those lands over them.

As far as the 40 acres in the South, they had to give all that land back. President Johnson said **** them ****** once Lincoln got killed.

this condition needs to be studied seriously.

Don’t need VALIDATION from anyone. Either you have confidence or you don’t. I don’t understand how the most emulated culture/race constantly begs outside sources for approval. Constant insecurity or feeling less than will have some people in a never ending spiral of confusion and self doubt. It’s a sickness

Thank God I never felt inferior

My great grandfather left us with over 150 acres of land in Cordele, GA that my family still owns and operates. I’ve grown to realize that a lot of people WANT to feel inferior or don’t even care to learn about their family. Being insecure is a choice at this point.

I always tell people I never struggled as a kid, never missed meals, always had my own room, etc. I grew up in a GREAT environment

i bet you have no idea who Tunis G Campbell even is but you trying to educate people.
I'm always open to learn, but that has nothing to do with you conflating the Homestead Act with the Field Order No. 15 (40 acres).

I hope you actually do research on whatever paper/book/youtube video you're creating

EXACTLY! I always brag about my grandparents and great grandparents. My mom has told me so many stories about my great grandfather. He was born in 1900 and died in 1982. They said he wasn’t NOTHING to be played with and loved his family.

My family has ALWAYS been homeowners. Damn near all my family members young and old have homes. High School diplomas, college degrees, money in the bank.

I just never understood the “woe is me” mentality for you’re whole life. Like damn, y’all don’t want to stunt and put on for your family? I tell people all the time that I grew up with a platinum spoon, forget a silver spoon. My family is still flourishing and thriving to this day :hat :hat :hat

I let it be known that I never struggled and I’m proud to admit it :hat

100% Truth. It’s that “Going up the rough side……..of the mountain” mentality” that black people have to get rid of.

hey Professor…

my reference to 40 acres and a mule was only to give an example of us claiming we NEVER got anything.

do you know what an example is?

to prove to you the context in which i presented it as an example…
it commonly said black people never got their 40 acres. that the Homestead Act of 1862 didnt apply to black people.
these 2 sentences were put together to give examples of common phrases amongst black people concerning (not) getting land from the govt.
it was not saying these 2 were specifically or had any connection outside of us not getting land.

I'm always open to learn,……

you sure about that?

it sure looks like you’re far too willing and eager to teach what you dont know.

did you Google Tunis G Campbell yet? we never got that answer.

surely you the Professor knows who that is

i would post a video to help but you didnt bother watching any of the previous videos before you started flapping your keystrokes last time

……but that has nothing to do with you conflating the Homestead Act with the Field Order No. 15 (40 acres).

the conflating you detected is assumptions through your own ignorance of the matter.

I hope you actually do research on whatever paper/book/youtube video you're creating

ive done my research. ive actually ordered and recieved a copy of my ancestors land patent from 1881 from the US Dept of Interior.
have you done the same?

lets start there.

i bet you’ve never even done your own ancestry research on your own lineage to even get started.

bruh, have you ever heard anyone say that Black Wall Street built back? EVER??

the picture is painted as if the massacre happened, people were killed and/ or disappeared and thats it

those people built back bigger, thrived, and flourished…for decades. until footage was found in the gatdamn attic.

huh????

YES MR PROFESSOR, not saying forget what happened, but cant we atleast talk and reflect on both?

makes you wonder what stories of resilience and overcoming can do to our youth vs constant stories of despair

What was the question? Did I look him up? Yes. What next.

that tells you that if you had to Google Tunis G Campbell, you have no business trying to educate the person that told YOU about him.

our culture are plagued with people like you far too eager to get up and teach what you havent researched yourself.

if you’re citing history facts on Field Order Num 15, you should be ashamed to have to google Tunis G Campbell. yet here we are

I didn't have to have to google anything. I offered since you writing walls of text.

That said, nothing as changed about you conflating the two Laws. You understand that right?

Now over to Texas. NPR reports that various industries there fear that mass deportations could cripple them, particularly in construction, where nearly 300,000 undocumented immigrants toiled as of 2022. Those workers enable the state to keep growing despite a native population that isn’t supplying a large enough workforce. Local analysts and executives want Trump to refrain from removing all these people or create new ways for them to work here legally. Even the Republican mayor of McKinney, Texas, is loudly sounding the alarm.

Lol
