Black Friday 2k14 1st page for deals you may miss

I hate to be picky but I can't find a Samsung 40''-50'' TV that has 1080p AND 120hz. I don't even care for a smart TV. Either it's 60hz or it's like 60''+ which is kinda out of my budget. Just want a decent TV for gaming and sports.
have you considered a 50" Samsung Plasma?

you wouldnt have to worry about refresh rates
and since Plasma is going away you can get one hella cheap

BB has one for $550
Yeah I was considering one, I saw a good deal on a plasma but it was 720p. I'm not really technical when it comes to this stuff so is it worth it? Is there a huge difference between 720p and 1080p? I

Heard this a few years ago, and it's the most solid TV info I've heard.

Most TV programs don't show in 1080p because the technology hasn't advanced there yet.
I have a Samsung in my bedroom that shows me what speed the program is broadcasting in.
It's only a handful of programs that broadcast in full 1080p.

Example: I'm watching football right now.
The Alabama - Mississippi state game on CBS is in 1080i.
The Wisconsin vs Nebraska game is on ABC, it's in 1080i.
The Notre Dame vs Northwestern game on NBC is in 720p.
UCLA vs Washington is on Fox and it's in 720p also.
Several other programs on other stations are only showing in 480p.

120hz and 60hz is the refresh rate.
The stores usually have on sports so you can see how the TV refreshes.
If it's a hockey game on, watch the puck.
If the puck is blurry then the TV doesn't refresh very well, and may not be the best TV for sports or gaming.

When you guys say make sure the tv has a low input lag, what specific number should we be looking for?

With refresh rate I know I should be looking for at least 120hz (and not 120 clear rate motion bs).

With input lag what's the minimum number it should have to give you smooth gaming?

I'm tryna find a good 47-50 inch Samsung/Vizio within the next 2 weeks and I want it to be as close to a complete package as possible.

To be specific, it's for my bedroom. So I will be watching from 10-15 feet away. Still want it to be good though if I'm making an investment

Good looks man.
The step up model is a GREAT deal.

I've had my eyes on the f8500 for almost two years now doe. Especially now since my ST30 got stolen a couple months back.

Why didn't didn't you get that $450 55inch Panasonic accommodation last month?

I'm not sure what you are referring to. Panasonic discontinued plasmas last year :frown:
HT accommodation that ended at the beginning of this month. The one best buy employees get the opportunity to purchase at least twice a year.

Edit
If you are talking about getting just a plasma TV then disregard this post.
