Breaking Bad Thread - "El Camino" - A Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix 10/11

can someone explain the photo of Walt's reflection on the Chrysler with the bullethole? is it because one of the reflections looks like Walt has his brains blown out?

Exactly. The bullet hole is straight through his forehead.

I don't know if I want to start BB over or start The Wire since you all say it's good. Suggestions?

ILLest!
reminds me of this..

Skylar hates her husband. She's unhappy with her life. She would have much rather had the life with her jump off than a wife to Hank. IMO.

And when Walt so beautifully hit Skylar with that spit evoking "BIT__!" I threw my hands up a said "finally!"

Wife to Walt you mean. And are you even watching the show LOL, I'm pretty sure Walt was saying that only to say it since he knew the police were listening and to clear Skylar's name since he DOES care and in that, he basically gave an all out confession knowing he might not ever see the people he loves so dearly only to clear their name and have them be OK from the feds.

Read one of the many episode recaps this morning. A good point they brought up was that this is the first time that Walt went beyond redemption. Up until now he was still able to lie his way out of any situation but now at this point there is no turning back.. or so we are lead to believe.

The show is just too good right now to speculate and try to analyze for me. I don't even want to get into it. I just want to sit back and enjoy these last two episodes.

I cant fault Skylar for losing her ****. I mean, I was the leader of the I Hate Skylar club, but come on. In her mind HE JUST KILLED HER SISTER'S HUSBAND.:lol

He's her husband tho. He fathered her kids and risked his life to provide for them. Skyler is a ******g *****. I hope she dies in the worst way possible.

typed too fast.

I dont care what the underlying cause for the soliloquy was and only that that "BIT__" was long coming.

It's sad how some of last night's show is still going over people's heads.

At the end of it all he loved Skylar and his family so much that he would do WHATEVER it took to make sure that they were not held responsible for his actions even if that meant to undo the video he made putting it all on Hank.

He was made to leave his home by his own son after fighting, literally, physically fighting his wife because he wanted them all to ride off into the sunset together. His moral compass is skewed, but in his mind all he's done is provide for his family. Sure his ego took over and he went off the deep end with his criminal actions, but he really thought that at the end of it all he was going to keep his family in tact.

With the way he offered up that money in exchange for Hank's life, it puts a new perspective on the video he made incriminating Hank. It wasn't about him gettin Hank in trouble, it was about him keeping things as "normal" as he could with the news of who he truly was out there. He wanted to stale mate Hank and keep for things to eventually blow over. He just had no idea how much of a company man Hank was. R.I.P

Damn.

Dude's thinking he was really cursing Skylar out of hate? Sure some of it was him trying to get her to open her eyes, but the real eye opener for her was he would sacrifice his life and freedom for his family.

I'm with Walt til the wheels fall off. Dude has my respect.

So does Hank.

Jesse is a rat piece of ****.

after this series is over, I wanna try some blue meth

TIGHT TIGHT TIGHTITHGITHGT! WOOOOOO

What if Walt wins the lottery with those coordinates?

Well even though it only counts as season 5, technically it's taken two seasons to introduce Todd and the Aryans so I think that's enough time. And I think it just shows that Walt could never be the king that Gus was. Gus built an empire from scratch that took years and he was always so careful with the people he was involved with, including his lieutenant Mike. Mike was so crucial because he had a network of muscle that were loyal to him and could be trusted.

Like Mike said, just because you shot Jesse James doesn't make you Jesse James. Walt had no muscle so he had to trust Todd and his uncles with doing his dirty work. It's sloppy and foolish of Walt to think money can buy loyalty/trust and it's a flaw that he took all the way to Hank's death.

All of this. Once again Walt's arrogance back fires. He thought he could control and manipulate everything around him. He got in bed with some real killers and he thought they were under his control but those dudes don't respect nothing and they're reckless. Walt might be smart enough to come back and kill all of 'em but he got Hank killed and his family is a mess.

Man, they really beat the hell outta Jesse. :x

For some reason I kept thinking Jesse and Walt were gonna find some way to make peace and go their separate ways. It's obvious now Walt REALLY wants Jesse dead. Todd forcing Jesse to cook adds another dynamic to this wild story. I don't even want to speculate how this is gonna end, I just wanna watch and enjoy the greatness. :hat

This is all x1000000 true.

I couldn't cosign more if i tried. Team Walt/Heisenberg

This episode was the closest i got to leaving the WW bandwagon. But with Walt offering all his money for Hank and also for taking full responsibility to protect his family im still riding with Walt till the end.

Realtalk tho,

I hope Walt have another Heisenberg moment and serve up that Gray Matter ***** boi, (that stole his girl and pushed him out tha company), some Reisen on a silver platter.
He the reason fa allllllllisssss!!!

Jesse is a rat piece of ****.

Feel the same way, don't feel any type of feels for Pinkman. Mental ****** deserves his fate.

Totally agree on WW, his fault and downfall was that even though he wanted to be this cold hearted mastermind that built an empire. He still cared deeply about those close to him. If he didn't care he wouldn't have been in this mess. He cared for Jesse, and Jesse ended up falling apart at the seems which caused Hank's case to break wide open and snowballed into the current mess.

He gave up the money to save Hank, because in his mind it would probably pave the way to normalcy. He is naive, and therefore the Aryans took advantage of that by taking the bulk of Walt's "earnings".

When Walt asked Skylar to answer the phone and she did, and he asked if she was alone, I thought: "What an idiot, don't say too much". I thought Walt was riding the wave of emotion, same as the previous episode when Jesse threatened him and sent him the picture of the mock barrel of money. He was truly duped at that point. When he confessed over the phone and incriminated himself, I just :{, how can he be so smart yet so dumb. Then he hung up, and tore up the flip phone, you knew that he did it for his family, no emotion, planned. Modern day Jekyll and Hyde.

After re-watching I'm becoming convinced this is the greatest show I've ever seen.

Every scene after a break was great. Like memorable classic masterpiece scenes excellent.

Jr. "You're full of ****! That's what!" :rollin

Where them BB comics? 8o

If I know what part you're talking about I think that was just to show the bullet hole in the gas tank. Not any metaphor for Walt dying.
Someone please respond:

I only started the series 3 weeks ago so I've watched everything like one long movie and might not have the same perspective, but why does everyone seem to hate Hank

Skylar hates her husband. She's unhappy with her life. She would have much rather had the life with her jump off than a wife to Hank. IMO.

And when Walt so beautifully hit Skylar with that spit evoking "BIT__!" I threw my hands up a said "finally!"
I'll add that Hank had that star HS QB attitude for most of the series until the twins put him down and he could never catch Heisenberg. We see Walt call him on that type of **** when he got a bit drunk and barked on Hank when he was letting Jr. drink at one of them beat the cancer parties. Hank has thought he was better than Walt the whole damn time, tried to be Jr.'s father (granted it appears Jr. likes Hank a bit more cuz of his cool job), etc.

Reason ppl will dislike Hank is for what he represents in comparison to Walt being the underdog throughout.

I think the whole driving force behind walt doing what he did was wanting to go out on his own terms.

my guess is that its gonna be walt's call on how he's gonna go out.

I'm probably alone in this, but does anybody else just constantly think about this?

I mean goddamn all day at work i had semi-anxiety about what was gonna happen to Walt and hoping marie and Jessie would die already
roll.gif

Again I'm probably alone in this.

You guys that keep saying Walt did all this for his family are just as deluded as he is lol. Walt did it for Heisenberg. That's it. Working for his family is the lie Walt told himself to justify everything. This was all about his ego and greed. He said he'd stop after he got $700k, kept going. Could've found a way to get out after his cancer went into remission, didn't. Could've let Hank keep thinking Gale was Heisenberg, ego wouldn't allow it. Hell if he was worried about providing for his family, he could have taken that high paying, token gig with Grey Matter. If he were truly "sacrificing" for their collective future after his demise, he'd have sacrificed his pride.

As for Jesse, you guys act like he got pinched and decided to snitch on Walt to save himself. He didn't cut a deal with Hank, he snitched solely because wanted to see WW go down and seemed prepared to deal with the consequences. I honestly don't blame him. WW ruined his life. Repeatedly. I won't disagree that Jesse's self-destructive nature didn't help things, but every time he had the opportunity to go down the morally "right" road, WW manipulated him or the things around him to get JP to go along with whatever he had going on. They have some sort of dysfunctional loyalty towards one another (until recently at least) but JP is more of a battered wife than Skyler is (psychologically, of course).

If Walt's going to be killed it only makes sense for it to be Jesse at this point. Nobody else "deserves" to. Hank's gone and he's "protected" Skyler and the kids. Marie maybe but I'm sure Gilligan knows EVERYBODY would hate that.

The unpopular opinion here, but I'll have to agree with you. I don't really get the Jesse hate at all.
