Breaking Bad Thread - "El Camino" - A Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix 10/11

Walter initially cooked for his family, but realized he was really good at it.  Then he started to cook because of what he's started, he couldn't walk away from something he was so good at, something he helped create, something people wanted.  He did that once and let it go with Grey Matter.  He cooked because he was great at it.  But the money was ALWAYS for his family.

- Love the way Hank went out.

Man.....when Hank laid there and told Walt he is the smartest person he knows.....the sincerity.....what was left of their relationship...

That's not the way I saw it, I do plan to rewatch the episode. I took it as another shot at Walt. One of those "How can you be so smart yet so dumb" type comments.

Cause after he said Walt was the smartest man he knew, he mentioned how he couldn't see that Jack made his mind up 10 minutes ago. Walt's biggest fault is that morality creeps up and bites him at the wrong times.

-Walt telling Jesse that he watched his girl OD was cold blooded. Jesse deserved it though, he should've dissapeared when he had the chance.

-The whole domestic violence scene, :{, Walt Jr :{. Too much real life with females being the aggressor/attacker and the guy taking the heat. Well played by Gilligan, cause the audience already hates the hell out of Skyler and now Walt Jr is in the audience dog house.

Anybody else get that Mark Wahlberg boogie nights type of vibe from Todd? The way he plays the peppy, fresh, kind of naive kid eager to satify the boss. I'm talking Dirk Diggler before the coke...lol.

watch the law gets changed cause some congressman whose a fan of the show hates skylar :lol

I kinda agree with Noble though.

Why didnt Walt want Jesse dead right there. Jesse snitching caused Hank's death. Now this snitch Jesse is gonna get away watch. Smh

Jesse ain't going nowhere but a hole in the ground.

Todd doesn't want Jess alive as a slave, he wants the recipe perfected and that's it, then he puts a well deserved hole in his head. If they (the writers) have Jesse concoct a bomb or some dumb **** like that AND escape then I'm going to be pissed.

I don't want Walt saving him. I want Walt to come machine gun the whole building while their guards are dropped for not keeping their word on offing Jesse after the interrogation and for taking his money and making him shake on it like he was a chump.

Old one for me, two for you, one-two for me, two for you type of deal... :{

With no family left and only his pride and honor to keep alive, Hesienberg's mythology and rep must be preserved. That's all he has now. Gun down the whole clan. Also, he took what Hank said to heart and felt dumb for not seeing it sooner. He's going to realize it and see that uncle Jack and crew NEVER had any plans of doing things his way.

The way that Jack was talm bout "Hulk mad?" when they were discussing the Jesse hit was straight disrespect. And Todd was behind Walt shaking his head with a smirk on some "aye chill unc, don't let him know that we think he's a clown." :{

DEATH.

Death to them all.

I only started the series 3 weeks ago so I've watched everything like one long movie and might not have the same perspective, but why does everyone seem to hate Hank & Skylar so much?

Marie I could understand, Skylar I dont really because she was ride or die for the most part under such circumstances (its probably the giving money to Ted thing) but Hank will need some explanation. He was a good dude for the most part.

Is it simply because Walt/Heisenberg is the protagonist and he could do no wrong in the eyes of BB fans?

I have a feeling that Todd still has that fatherly bond somewhere in his brain with WW, but has to exercise caution with his Uncle around

Prediction: Todd helps WW in some manner. It may have to do with him killing his own uncle.

He didnt have to say "sorry for your loss". I didn't look at it as a cold calculated stab at WW in a time of mourning. But a reaching out of sorts.

I think the Aryans will be dealt with in this next episode and we move onto something else.. Their story line shouldn't define this series.

You guys that keep saying Walt did all this for his family are just as deluded as he is lol. Walt did it for Heisenberg. That's it. Working for his family is the lie Walt told himself to justify everything. This was all about his ego and greed. He said he'd stop after he got $700k, kept going. Could've found a way to get out after his cancer went into remission, didn't. Could've let Hank keep thinking Gale was Heisenberg, ego wouldn't allow it. Hell if he was worried about providing for his family, he could have taken that high paying, token gig with Grey Matter. If he were truly "sacrificing" for their collective future after his demise, he'd have sacrificed his pride.

As for Jesse, you guys act like he got pinched and decided to snitch on Walt to save himself. He didn't cut a deal with Hank, he snitched solely because wanted to see WW go down and seemed prepared to deal with the consequences. I honestly don't blame him. WW ruined his life. Repeatedly. I won't disagree that Jesse's self-destructive nature didn't help things, but every time he had the opportunity to go down the morally "right" road, WW manipulated him or the things around him to get JP to go along with whatever he had going on. They have some sort of dysfunctional loyalty towards one another (until recently at least) but JP is more of a battered wife than Skyler is (psychologically, of course).

If Walt's going to be killed it only makes sense for it to be Jesse at this point. Nobody else "deserves" to. Hank's gone and he's "protected" Skyler and the kids. Marie maybe but I'm sure Gilligan knows EVERYBODY would hate that.

Walt did want him dead.. He gave the go-ahead to kill. But he wasn't about to put up a fight against the Aryans if they wanted to keep him.

Skylar hates her husband. She's unhappy with her life. She would have much rather had the life with her jump off than a wife to Hank. IMO.

And when Walt so beautifully hit Skylar with that spit evoking "BIT__!" I threw my hands up a said "finally!"

I cant fault Skylar for losing her ****. I mean, I was the leader of the I Hate Skylar club, but come on. In her mind HE JUST KILLED HER SISTER'S HUSBAND.:lol

can someone explain the photo of Walt's reflection on the Chrysler with the bullethole? is it because one of the reflections looks like Walt has his brains blown out?

Not at all, more like a Ted Bundy vibe.... Todd is the archetypal sociopath/murderer.

Extremely unsuspecting and "normal" on the outside, but has absolutely zero regard for human life.

Exactly this, dude is a sociopath. I knew it from the moment he killed the kid on the dirt bike and kept the jar. Peep how he said "sorry for your loss" to Walt after Jack killed Hank. Dude just said that because he knows that's how you're supposed to feel but he definitely didn't even understand the emotion Walt was feeling. He's one of my favorite characters, he has what it takes to takeover the operation, an emotionless Jesse. Too bad Walt is going to kill him, still think he's wearing Todd's jacket in the flash forward

the promo for the next epidose has Saul asking Walt how much longer he has -- as there are two DEA agents missing and they are watching your family now...as Skyler looks out of her window to see a mysterious car.

Any takers on whats going on?
