Tennessee woman Shona Carter-Brooks has come under fire for putting her newborn baby on the train of her wedding dress and dragged little Aubrey while she walked down the aisle. Carter-Brooks defended her action and said in a Facebook post that the four-week old baby was safe because she was "covered by Christ." She added that her baby was "awake and well-secured" the entire time she was being dragged.

A baby stroller is seen as mothers play with their children at a public area in downtown Shanghai November 19, 2013.
According to reports, one of the bride's friends in Facebook was teary-eyed at the "moment." Pamela Stone wrote and addressed Shona and Jonathan Brooks to say their wedding brought tears to her eyes. She loved the wedding and thanked the couple for inviting her.

However, commenters were outraged to see the picture of the baby on the train of her mother's wedding dress and demanded she be reported to child protection services. Others said that what Cater-Brooks did was child abuse.

Carter-Brooks posted on Facebook that her wedding dress was by Vera Wang and was bought in David's Bridal. She said the dress was customised to fit the baby. Her wedding dress was believed to have been bought for around $400 to $1,400.

Carter-Brooks told the people on Facebook who had "something negative" to say about what happened that they do what they want "as long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine."

She concluded her Facebook post that it was just that "exclusive and epic enough we made to blog" even if they were from a small town in Ripley, Tennessee.

Various social media reactions went from "classless", "incredibly dangerous" and "sick." Some commenters said the baby could have suffered from "carpet burn" from being dragged on the floor of Elam Baptist Church.

One woman said on Facebook that she would have gotten up and took the baby from the floor if she was there.

The Daily Mail said Carter-Brooks has another daughter named Jania, aside from newborn baby Aubrey. Her husband works as a forklift driver in Tennessee.

I always find it funny that they add social media comments.

Yes she said the hands of Jesus held the baby down so there is that

:smh:

I see nothin wrong. I hate this PC world we live in.

The baby is being dragged across the floor B. You don't see anything wrong with that?

The bride couldn't hold it? Or even let a relative hold it in a seat or something?

The things people do for attention smh.

I'm trying to figure out what the point of that was it just dosen't make any sense :smh:. Not that they owe us an explanation, but without one it just seems like they trying to get attention. I dont know what that lady was crying about though. Nothing sentimental about the whole thing.

The world is too PC now, and although I don't see anything wrong it just seems forced. Definitely not worth lambasting the mother and father on social media. It just doesn't make sense.

This is what I hate more than anything. When "Christians" talk about God or Jesus covering them, as if they get a pass to do stupid things because they are covered, or having Jesus on their side :smh:. It is a misrepresentation of what Christianity is and makes us look like fools when people speak this way in public. Where was all this covering and Jesuse being on there side when they were having premarital sex, and fornicating? They like to pick and choose which sins are acceptable and have a titty attack when homosexuals are displayed in public. Sin is sin, no sin is greater than the other, but if you listen to them you wouldn't know that.

My son is 4 weeks old and I'm imagining him being put in that position. Lol that's F'in Stupid.

Jesus with the assist

This isn't the smartest thing to do but it isn't child abuse either. How can a baby get carpet burns if the skin isn't touching the carpet. The act was pointless imo.
