I've got an answer that most of you wont like but here it is anyways, those people shouldn't be voting. I don't want your delusional takes on life to outcome ANY election that will effect either me or my families lives.

I strongly believe very religious people should be homed in a mental institution but thats just me.
God Bless you.
See this is part of the reason that alot of people dont like people that are strongly religious. Because anytime they have some sort of disagreement they come out with this God Bless you nonsense. Do you consider that your trump card or something.

he simply voiced his opinion & nothing more. not to mention that he has a point, your religious beliefs really shouldnt have an outcome on something that affects the lives of people who arent of the same religion as you or any religion at all.

You just put 50 extra words in his mouth.

Why would you get offended by God Bless you?

He's not saying anything disparaging to you...

Do you think I care? Do you honestly think I care if I'm liked? Really? I said God Bless him because He thought people who were really intoGod should be locked in a mental institution. Thats why I said it. Its not a trump card. Its a term used I use when I don't feel I can reach someone, so Iask God to do it.

so pretty much when you have nothing else to say to someone during a discussion/argument you say God Bless You??

ok to be honest, it does not affect me at all... but it does affect my little nephews and nieces. They do teach these sort of things in elementary school.. itsa fact. Our generation today accepts gays.. and thats great. But those who are traditional or have kids do want them to be expose to those matter. Put yourselfin those parents shoes.. When there 6-7 year old daughter asking you why are those two boys making out..and they would think it is acceptable. idk.. i justthink it shouldnt be allowed in the classroom.

Also, if they do overturned this bill, imagine how many gays would be in california... it just be .. idk weird.. people from all over America would come downand get married here and live here. Society would just be different,

They would not teach gay marriage in the schools, that is nonsense they made up to get you to vote for Prop 8. not to mention that parents arelegally allowed to have their children not be a part of any discussions about marrige in a classroom. & whether this is overturned or not, your child willmost likely see two homosexual people making out regardless. There is no way you can avoid homosexuality in society.

On a sidenote i hope all of you people that are against being gay arent the same people that watch lesbian pornos. can you say hypocritical

So what are y'all gunna do when you and your kids walk past a gay couple kissing/holding hands?

Close your eyes?

Did they teach you about heterosexual marriages in school? Did you even hear about marriage in school at all? The furthest I can see gay marriagebeing taught in school is the HISTORY of it. Like about how this country was once filled with ignorant bigots and we've progressed to the point where wedon't discriminate based on race, gender, or sexual orientation. It's going to be a beautiful day when that is taught in school.

If they overturn this bill... how many gays will be in California? Do you live in California bud?

I really don't believe you guys in this thread that are up in arms about this going back to the courts are truly surprised. The Yes on 8 side won 52% ofthe vote. If you thought the remaining 48% of voters were just going to sit back and be like "Okay, we lose. Let's just drop this."
smh.gif

Gay people are going to be gay. There's no magic potion that's going to change them back into being attracted to those of the opposite sex. Gay peopleare going to fall in love and some will want to get married. You're going to say no because you don't agree with their sexual orientation? Because you, personally, feel that they're living a life of sin, won't allow them a civil right that we as heterosexuals enjoy? You can be against homosexuality allyou want but to strip a minority group of their civil rights is absolutely wrong. This is not a religious issue. It's a civil rights issue.

No when I see someone can't be talked to. He said he would lock up strong believers in a mental institution. What else could I say?

My kids will be educated on the issue. But honestly if I see two dudes or two girls going at it I just have a normal face.

Yes, the majority of people did vote yes on Prop 8.

But if it's unconstitutional, than is shouldn't be passed... no matter how much the vote passed with.

im just saying that is part of the issue people have with religious folk. A lot of the time when you have a disagreement with them, they alwaysresort to the something from the Bible, or somehting about God Bless you. When you say God Bless you to someone in the manner that you did, it makes it seemlike the person you are saying it to needs help, like his way of thinking is completely wrong & should never be thought.

Not saying that is how you meant for it to come off, but that is how it does sometimes.

I have a question for you all. Lets say a gay couple are members of a church, they want to get married in this church, the church says no, so the couple takesit to the courts and they force the church to marry them or the leader of the church will face penalty. What would your reaction be?

I can almost guarantee that in no way would the church give in & let the gay couple marry there. In that situation i would not support the gaycouple, just like how i wouldnt force my beliefs/way of life on someone else. I believe that nobody else should be able to force their beliefs/way of life onme. If the courts mandated that the church marry the couple of face penalties, i would be completely against that ruling.

Government cannot force a religious institution to marry couples. Separation of church and state.

RKO it's not that i cant be talked to, but in my beliefs you are living in a fantasy world that i personally think is hilarious and you, and many like youare the lost souls that cant be reached. Back to the point, this country no matter if you think so or not is NOT a christian country. Your ignorant beliefsystem should never and i mean never be able to pass a law discriminating against other Americans. It's not the rest of our faults you guys cant get yourheads out of these ridiculous bible pages long enough to realize your hateful ways. This brings me back to my original point saying that the extreme religiouspeople shouldn't even have a vote. You all obviously can NOT separate church from state and I personally don't want your views dictating laws that arepassed in a country that is made up of many different views, religions, races etc...

My views are that of equality and when i say equality i mean equality for all with no bearing on race, sexual orientation, and so forth. Thats why.

So what are you trying to say? If a gay couple brought this matter to court, that the government would force the church to marry them? Is thatwhat you're saying? You just sound OD paranoid right now. On some Big Brother tip. Of course I don't agree with the Patriot Act or the Iraq War but Ican't see the government forcing a church to marry people. If that happens, America has deviated from being the country of freedom that we're known as.
