Yeah anything local is playable. It's the Xbox Live based stuff that's unavailable right now. Kind of annoying since the PS3 servers have been up since 2 days ago .

I don't understand how every year when the new one is about to drop dudes are like "I can't play COD anymore it sucks etc etc etc."

Yeah, there haven't really been any MAJOR updates to the series since MW2, but the new guns/killstreaks/gametypes/maps that they add usually add some excitement for at least a few months after release. You mean to tell me you ain't having hours of fun playing this game with your boys on Xbox Live? I ain't buying that .

Exactly!  Fun!  That's what games are all about.

Granted, the fun w/ a new COD only lasts me a month or two, but I still have a good time nonetheless.  When I get bored, I sell it.

The games are fun but if they aren't going to really update the game it isn't fair to the players who are paying $60 every single year for the same thing with different skins. That's the reason people are complaining. They are making a killing. It's one of the best selling games every year and where does the money go? If you want me to have a yearly subscription make it just that, a subscription for $20-30 with the optional $15 expansions. 

But I guess complaining about $60 not lasting more than 2 months is pointless when you're talking to folks who spend 200 on shoes every 2 weeks

Usually by this time of year, I'd know everything about the new cod before it comes out, but I know nothing about ghosts at all... I'm sure many others feel the same way. Look at this thread, if it was 2 years ago, this thread would have been 200-300 pages already by now. Haha

i usually am pretty excited and know every single detail about the upcoming COD.

I know nothing about this joint aside from the fact that they all wear ghost balaclavas and theres a german shepard in it..

Maybe this will make the game more exciting. going in with a blank slate. idk.

I realized i just dont have the time for Games like i used. still havent beat GTA V and only like 5 games into my NCAA 14 dynasty. Will probably trade those two in for this as i havent played either in at least 3 weeks, maybe longer. COD is more pick up and play with out being tied into a mission or game so it might work out for me.

I'm like most of y'all I usually am crammed with what's what about the new COD release before it's release. A week out and I just found out what game modes are. I'm a huge COD player, pretty much the only game I buy but with X1 I'll probably end up getting more. I'm actually looking to get NBA2k14 and I've never bought a basketball game.

So it's interesting that this time around, Ghosts is removing (at least on launch) the following game modes: CTF, Demolition, Ground War and Search and Destroy. These are the confirmed core game modes:


Team Deathmatch
Cranked
Blitz
Search and Rescue
Infected
Kill Confirmed
Domination
Hunted
Free-for-all
Team Tactical

Hardcore:

Hardcore TDM
Kill Confirmed
Search & Rescue

Also I'm not swayed in any way because PS4 is 1080p native and X1 is 720p upscalled. My tv is 720p so enh.
