Candyman (2020) | "Spiritual Sequel" To The Original | US Release Date: 8/27/21

Any of you guys do the Candyman or Bloody Mary chants as a kid?

Yep. Older brother was too scared to do it so I did it in our bathroom at night.

We had one of those mirrors with the medicine cabinet behind just like the ones in the movie.

When I saw this, I was happy to see a true horror movie where the black guy was the "boogeyman" and the one feared and not dying in 2 seconds talking jive. Needless to say, I wasn't scared. I'll peep the trailer, and tf is a spiritual sequel? Lol

US Release Date: August 27, 2021
Starring: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Tony Todd, Teyonah Parris
Directed By: Nia DaCosta

Synopsis: A hook-handed boogeyman spits out swarms of bees and haunts a housing project in Chicago.

Originally based on the short story “The Forbidden” by Clive Barker who also wrote the novela “The Hell Bound Heart” which Hellraiser Derived from.

Horror movies can be intellectual, and to me can go further than any other genre except maybe Scifi which it usually involves.

I'd risk the Delta variant to see this in theaters. Jordan Peele doing great things per usual.
