C-Webb has to talk about the Fab 5.... its no coincidence this book is coming out now with the sanctions on Webber, Taylor, and one other guy (I forgot who.... Robert Traylor?)

Also, I hope he talks about his beef with Grant Napear and we get a more in depth look on what got him to love Sacramento

I think he tweeted he's gonna speak on some Fab 5 issues and "make things clear." Also retweeted some dude who said "tell em how you put Sac on the map!" or something. So there's a lot to look forward to.

Also I finally caught this episode of Open Court. Have any of you? They touch on the "Lakers always cheating" :lol

That was a pretty good watch.... Shaq stays throwing out shots every chance he gets

I really need to watch NBA TV more while I still have the channel

Webber sounds like he talks about the cheating (Game 6) behind the cameras, but keeps his mouth shut on camera for fear of getting fired/assassinated.

League source with intimate knowledge of the Kings transaction: "No matter how much they kick and scream, this is not about SEA's offer."

I wanted to post this in the other thread, but didn't wanna get nonsense yelled at me

I do hope Seattle understands this

"We have an ace up our sleeve"

*throws more money at it*
I'm not gonna mock it.... but I wish they could see that this isn't about Seattle anymore

and like I mentioned earlier, we don't even know if the NBA has responded to the initial increase. And we know that since the NBA has been working hand-in-hand with Vivek, they might have told them to ignore the initial increase already.

I just don't know if messier is better for Seattle to get a team.

I think it's better. The NBA can see the seriousness of Hansen/Ballmer to get a team in Seattle, I wouldn't turn a blind eye to that and I'm sure the owners haven't as well. But, increasing an offer to an already self-overvalued franchise does nothing to attract a future NBA team. And all that added "Look at our arena plan" jazz isn't doing them any favors to get the team sale in the event of the imminent relocation denial.

"Look at our arena plan!"
"We've purchased all the land we need!"
"We're ahead of Sacramento."
"We want to secure a team in Seattle."
.
.
.
"We'll work in good faith with the City of Sacramento to get an arena deal done."

Sure you will, buddy. Sure, you will.

#Seattle has to get its head around the idea this decision is not about that market! It's about keep the #NBAKings in Sac! #NBAKings

The #NBA asked for a 50% deposit "the #Sacramento group reached in their pocket and made the deposit like they were buying a candy bar"

I've talked to several #NBA people today who say the increased bid will have no impact on vote this week #NBAKings #Seattle

Pretty good write up, using the facts and timeline presented by Sonicsgate.

Personally, I've watched Sonicsgate probably 2 or 3 times now and its refreshing to see our local and state government step up in a way Seattle didn't even attempt to.

And yes, the got ****** hard by Bennett, but not without giving the local/county a slim chance to get a arena deal in place.

The Ballmer stepping up is misconstrued and only half true. Idk why they can't just point to Frank Chopp and blame him for all their NBA misery. If Chopp had agreed to public funds use and the city came up with an arena plan (along with not blinking in court), then the Sonics per NBA Constitution would never have relocated. Those two leftover lease years were crucial for them. They could have had:

- Arena Deal
- Political Support
- Fan Support

Basically all the necessary things to block relocation.

It was a $500 million, taxpayer funded arena. Nobody city is stepping up to do that. Ironically, the NBA wants public/private partnership on these arenas, except in Seattle they wanted a fully public-funded arena. They do what's convenient for them. Plain and simple.

Eh its probably easier to villianize the NBA and Stern (a mainstream entitiy) rather than a political figure that will fade into obscurity sooner rather than later.

This is definitely where their victimization and entitlement comes from

WUT? or the NBA, stern, shultz, bennett did screw us over :rollin
i would love to see Sacramento residents aprove a vote for a $500 million arena funded only by them

I thought Bennett was gonna put in $100mil?

But ya anytime you sell anything as a taxpayer funded project its gonna be met with resistance.

What about the renovation project of Key Arena on March 6 2008 headed by Ballmer's $150? Why couldn't the city support their $75mil end?

You're right, your local/regional/state government didn't burn the NBA at all in the entire process. Did you even watch Sonicsgate?

Its a pretty good watch, you should check it out. It presents a lot of facts rationally without the emotion.

Basically gave a blueprint for Sacramento on what, sadly, not to do

He was contributing $100 million

Bennett also said that his ownership group will not commit any more money to the project. In its previous financial proposal, the ownership group asked for $300 million in King County taxes, $100 million from Renton and promised to cover the remaining $100 million balance.

When asked if he would re-submit a package that included a greater contribution from the team, Bennett said: "No. We're not putting forth more money. Why should I? We're already investing in an economic model that doesn't provide a return, but willing to do it to get this done. The unfortunate reality is this requires a significant public investment or else it's not going to get done."

He asked for $300 million from the state. That article doesn't mention the city of Seattle or King County. He wasn't contributing a single dime to a $500 million arena.
thank you. we lived through this damn thing. i dont see why dudes don't understand. probably didn't even care or look up this stuff till chris hansen tried to cop the kings
I actually first watched Sonicsgate back in 2011 when the Maloofs were trying to move to Anaheim.
