DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Wow :rollin

They played chicken with Marvel and DC folded like lawn chairs.

Good for them though, they don't need anything else hurting their franchise.

March is a weird release date. January & February are the months where studios place movies that no one really cares about

yea DC saw Guardians of the Galaxy and said "wow, they made ****** fall in love with a tree that said 5 words...we cant **** with that typa influence" lol

:lol I can already tell how you're going to review this film and it won't be out for over 18 months. :lol :{

Anyways good move by DC, probably will take in more money this way. This year the Lego movie did well opening in February and Cap 2 did really well opening in April. This movie is going to be really hyped by then and if its good, it'll probably be at the top of the box office for weeks.

It never made sense for Warner Bros. to release it that date. IMO, it's a given that a Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman live action movie would beat out Cap, but why cannibalize the box office?

I'm not too sure about a March release date, not too many films that have made that much during an opening weekend other than The Hunger Games.

To be fair though, Marvel could use some of those interesting bad guys. A joke, but good analogy.

Alice in Wonderland made a billion on a March release.

Damn didn't think WB would blink first on the release date. BvS probably would have whooped Caps *** tbh

Alice in Wonderland made a billion on a March release.

Alice was a special case cause they were piggybacking off the immediate 3d hype from Avatars release. No other March film even comes close, except for Hunger Games. I think BvS qualifies as one of these special cases though :lol

We can argue about it all day but do people really think Captain America 3 would've outdone DOJ if they came out on the same day?

What movie right now is more anticipated then this? Moving it to March just gives them the weekend to themselves.

Month. 8o

I think now that it's in March (and Spring Break is in there) they shouldn't have the dropoff in week 2 or 3 that they would when other films are releasing in May. Like what we saw this year with Spidey 2, Godzilla, and X-Men all in a 4 weekend span.

Bat-Supes could have a couple weeks to cake before the next tent film releases.

Might as well put this here. Really wish I could edit that first page, really tempted to start a new thread.

Exactly.

And honestly, you can't tell me the average movie goer would chose seeing another Captain America movie over seeing Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman on the big screen together for the first time.

Look at social media... Anything Batman V Superman is eaten up. I'm one of the biggest Star Wars fan on this board and I honestly believe DOJ could drop on December 16th 2015 and outperform Episode VII.

It's friggin Batman and Superman, together :lol. I love the Captain America movies but they couldn't compete with that.

I think most know BvS would win the box office war against Cap 3, only people in denial would really think otherwise.

At the end of the day, it's about maximizing their profits and I think deep down inside we all knew the two wouldn't go head to head, we knew someone was going to move eventually.

Can we just get Meth to make you the OP of this one?  I hate when people make threads like these just to be the first person to post the info then never update it

I've thought about asking to take over the Star Wars thread too, but didn't know who to ask. :lol

I mean, you could've just PM'd me to change the title of the thread. I didn't mean for it to be the end all be all official star wars thread when I made it. Why don't you just make another star wars thread

You made it?

I was going to first ask the OP (you) and see what he thought first. That's why I haven't asked a mod yet or anything. Was just commenting in here since the subject of switching OP's came up.
