No I'm saying if you read Watchmen then you know the movie was trash in comparison.

Get out here with that crap. Did you want a huge octopus on screen? I have no problem with the changes in watchmen.

From casting, to the acting, to how a 13 issue story was adapted to 3 hrs to how Snyder directed it is what I found to be trash. That is what I have a problem with.

The comparison alone is what makes it suck so much to me.

People thought Dawn of the Dead (2004) was bad? That was easily his best film...shoutout to James Gunn.

300 was fine..

Never saw it.

I said not including 300 but I should've added any movie of his I didnt see as well but to be fair I didn't even know he directed Dawn of the Dead given I've never had any interest in seeing it.

First time I've heard of him was 300.

I don't know about 2 biggest pop culture icons of all time. Batman, sure, but it's been decades since Superman has been anywhere near the top. Not even in comic book superheroes. But especially movies. Not with LOTR, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, and James Bond. All I ever hear is how "lame" and "overpowered" Superman is. DC, with the exception of Batman, has been the red headed step-child for a while now.

I don't disagree that Zack's liberties and unconventional take made it hard for BVS to be universally appealing. He's not JJ Abrams. He isn't who you get to make crowd pleasers. JL isn't even a Zack Snyder movie tho. They hit us with the okey doke. Wonder Woman was closer aesthetically to BVS than JL was. If Zack got to finish JL and it was Neck Snappas 2: What's Snappening?, then by all means, but JL underperforming is due to a lot of things.

Superman may not be as popular as he once was but the "S" on his chest is easily the most recognizable logo in the world. You could go to any 3rd world country and show that symbol and hear the name Superman. When I've gone to Africa I've seen kids with electricity not available to them for most of the day wearing towels around their neck saying they're superman. The problem is deeply rooted but ultimately stems from Chris Nolan's cosign of Zack Snyder. You got a guy not into comics to cosign a guy who had a phase with comics to helm a comic book film universe. Though it didn't seem like it in the 90's, Marvel was very fortunate to have their film division overseen by those who were manning the comics end as well. Toy Biz with Ike Perlmutter and Avi Arad and Joe Quesada really saved Marvel and made it into the film juggernaut they are today because they were so involved in the early stages of the MCU's creation. They lucked up with Feige big time however.

Ironically I love Dawn of the Dead. Clearly the anomaly of Zack Snyder's horrible track record.

i know the dude hashtagged DCU but that could just be the comics since I think most still refer to the movie-verse as DCEU

DCs been making trailers for their new comic events like the new 52 and rebirth iirc

There's def going to be an Aquaman trailer at WonderCon. Probably an official poster or promotional shot for Shazam. I didn't expect much more before SDCC, but that guy is hyping it up. Maybe we'll get a Supes announcement.

The trailer is probably aquaman. The only other “big” announcement would either the WB streaming service, Green lantern or Superman. Teen titans cartoon movie and TV show are already known, same for Batman WW2 etc.
