DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Its hard for me to believe Spiderman is more popular than Batman, lame superman maybe but not Batman

spiderman is more popular than superman market-wise

name-wise, superman is probably known more around the world but many hates supes for all the powers he has and being a blue-boy-scout, he's pretty much bret hart in an stone cold era

its been batman for dc and spidey for marvel for a long while now and not even close:

The Licensing Letter listed Marvel's Spider-Man global retail sales at $1.3 billion and Avengers at $325 million in 2013, compared with DC's Batman at $494 million and Superman at $277 million.

old graph but i believe it still holds true to this day

your welcome

your statements too idiotic dude

first youre saying dude is in too much film so he isnt making a billi and then says he has more coming and that will make him a billi in his solo outing

like seriously, you are one dude who are known to hate on dc and wants it to fail and you are just here making up dumb excuses that is really backed by nothing

its really as simple as this, recent superman films wasn't that great and was 50/50 to the general audience so it didnt make money, aint no popular is going to help that

but spiderman had good and great movies and a masterpiece according to you and still cant make a billi, i personally do not know why, maybe he needs to travel to china to get that extra $100m to push it to a billi but you cant even give dc 24hrs to enjoy their one of very, very few victories

Lol math is idiotic? It’s called ratios. Since the first time Spider-Man has appeared on film, audiences haven’t gone more than 3 years without seeing him. He’s had 8 film appearances in 16 years. That means you’re seeing Spider-Man on film an average of once every 2 years. His brand had been fatigued on film and is just now making a resurgence. Before MoS Superman hadn’t been seen on film for almost 10 years. So audiences rejected a 10 year return from hiatus. So DC pairs him with Batman who’s last two films beforehand did a billion.......still no billion. So DC creates a justice league film and makes him the focal point.........you know where this is going. There isn’t any reason to “hate” on DC. They have all their comic properties under one roof and have the original superheroes. But acting like people don’t have a reason to be skeptical when they’ve mishandled properties that were guaranteed to be successful is being naive

there is this thing called KIDS, and you know what they like to do? get their parents to buy all the toys and underwear.

Batman maybe deeper more personable to adults, but adults dont buy toys as rampant as children

marvel/disney licenses their ip's out there to anyone that would pay so that plays a huge role too

dc isnt as casual like i think they just revoked their licensing deal with mattel or one of the big toy companies

Supermans lip didnt even bother to make an appearance in justice league at all.

They had to use a stunt lip

Batman TAS > any animated series

I always liked batman more even as a kid, Batman TAS> Spiderman TAS. Hell, even Batman Beyond> Spiderman TAS
Agree 100%!! Batman Beyond was criminally underrated. Had more continuity and maturity than Spiderman TAS ( not to take anything from STAS, because it was great in it's own right)

The Truth About The Latest Batman Movie Rumors

the article is a long read but to summarize:

The status of Matt Reeves' The Batman (if that's even what it ends up being called) remains something of a mystery but a new report from Forbes may finally shed some light on what's happening.

For starters, it's said that there are no plans for Ben Affleck to return as Bruce Wayne because the current iteration of the movie revolves firmly around a young version of the Dark Knight played by a different actor. As for that Jack O'Connell rumour which has started doing the rounds again, he's reportedly had no discussions with the studio about playing the character.

That doesn't mean he hasn't been considered; the studio simply hasn't spoken to him yet.

As for when The Batman will finally be released, it's said that it's currently being eyed for a 2021 release date but there's a chance it could be pushed back to 2022. On the plus side, Reeves is said to be envisioning this movie as the first in a new series of movies.

Now, this may surprise you but that rumour about The Penguin making an appearance is reportedly correct and he was indeed replaced by Black Mask in Birds of Prey because Reeves has something planned for him. However, he'll be "one of a few" villains appearing here which is bound to get fans talking about who else could make an appearance...
