DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

My thing about captain America 2 is that IMO it's just a standard action movie with captain America thrown in. It's not really a super hero movie to me. Like you could out Tom cruise in it and the movie wouldn't skip a beat

It was a spy movie it wasn't a superhero movie in the traditional sense
But it wasn't a good spy movie. I know what they were trying to do but they just ended up making a generic action movie with a cool helicarrier

it wasn't generic by any means .If I may ask what do you want out of a Captain America movie

We'll be that as it may, it's a really good executed action movie that excels in what it represents whereas the first Spiderman wasn't the greatest at showcasing Peter Parker/Spiderman. Peter Parker lacked snarky remarks and his smart *** attitude and as Spiderman didn't demonstrate his abilities to the full extent.

Cap 2 is vastly over hyped. The movie is good, yes, in the relm of comic book movies that is. It stated off great and then feel flat for a long time until it picked itself back up.

honestly, I don't really wanna see Thor, captain America or hulk outside of an avengers.

I think that only Spider-Man, Xmen and iron man ( when done right) can actually carry a movie. I just think that carrying a comic and a movie are 2 different things. Nothing about either Thor movie was good. Ironman was getting by on the strength of RDJ alone because the stories were lackluster and I'd rather see mission impossible 5 or skyfall 2 than winter soldier. At least those leads have personality

Man I kinda agree with him. Im1 was good but begins was just better. If scarecrow was used more that movie would of been damn near perfect. Im1 suffered yet again from marvels notorious "who was that bad guy" syndrome

The standard that a comic book movie didn't just have to be just a good comic book movie, it could just be a good movie in general. Story, plot, acting, drama, suspense. I mean if all you took away from the movie was that it was just "dark" I mean there's really nothing I can tell you.
It's the standard for making MONEY yes. The formula of throwing as many heros as possible on the screen is what's making the most money. As far as overall quality, come at me for saying this and I've said this before, outside the action scenes avengers wasn't that good.
That's not what I took from it. That's what made people jizz over it. Story and plot was decent at best

That's how comic books work. Crossovers happen all the time. If it wasn't for their plan they had in mind from the beginning, most of the films we're getting now wouldn't even be made. Throwing Iron Man, Thor, Cap and the rest in one movie didn't make it succeed. It was the way it all went down. Which is the model everyone is copying now. That's the standard. Simple as that.

TDK got by on Ledger. Saying that doesn't mean much. Just shows how great he is in the role. IM1 remains one of the best origins out there. Anybody saying that Batman Begins has replay value  is bsing.

No it wasn't. Batman begins already was dark, that was over and done with. You really think that's the reason "jizzed" over it? :lol cmon man

Again, that's the standard for making money. Even cap 2 threw in whoever they could as a selling point. As far what the standard in a quality movie is tdk is that. It has yet to be topped

It's really jizzed over because it was a breathe of fresh air compared to the last garbage batman movie they came up with. I like it better overall than TDK, but it didn't age well at all for me. Outside of his training at the League of Shadowds, I'm done with the film. It's not as if Bale absolutely crushed that role or anything. Nolan isn't great at action, and the plot is decent. It's not a bad movie by any means, but meh.

Who did Cap 2 throw in there? A hero most never heard in Falcon of and Black Widow. How is that a selling point?

Nahhhhhhhhhh. Ain't nobody said, yo Scarlett in the film. I'm there midnight B. Nahhhhhhhhh.

In terms of how good she looked, I thought she looked best in IM2. Lawd, she was lookin good.

Of course they did, dudes been pleading for a solo BW film for the longest time. Plenty of men (and some women for sure) can't get enough of her.

Again not getting drawn in the middle but she may not be the only reason people went but it's always a plus and definitely helps draw some people in especially those who maybe on the edge of whether to go watch or not?

Of course she's a plus, but I can't say she was the factor that made people come out to watch.

But anyway idc, Cap2 >>>>>>>>>>>. No more Marvel talk. I'll be patiently awaiting Suicide Squad.

Doing a big successful team up movie is more than just throwing in characters together.

Maybe a lot of people will come watch that first weekend on the selling point of the characters alone but if the movie isn't good, they're not coming back to watch it.

The Avenger's second weekend earned more than most movie's first weekends.

Says who? She's on the poster along side of cap and fury. Falcon was needlessly a part of the film. Fury had more to do with the story than cap. Winter soldier was almost just shoved in just because they needed something of a villain. He was as lifeless as you'd imagine a marvel bad guy would be too :lol

In any case they were all selling points

Falcon was unknown to the vast majority. That leaves BW & Fury. Nobody's coming out to see Fury. As far as BW, she's popular, but is not what drew people out to see the film. Their inclusion just made the film better.

Winter Soldier wasn't shoved in. He's apart of Cap's mythos. Lifeless is how he's supposed to be, seeing how he's, you know, brainwashed.

Have to Love TDK.

Actually have the balls to kill off a meaningful love character.
The great transformation of Aaron.
Few great dialogue scenes.
The score was terrific.
Beautiful cut scenes.
Joker interrogation scene>>>>> end battle scene in Avengers...
The Joker actually put fear into you and had people at the edge of their seat.
joker alone>>>>> any Marvel villain combined.

Man Heath really did an awesome job :lol
