DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Falcon was unknown to the vast majority. That leaves BW & Fury. Nobody's coming out to see Fury. As far as BW, she's popular, but is not what drew people out to see the film. Their inclusion just made the film better.

Winter Soldier wasn't shoved in. He's apart of Cap's mythos. Lifeless is how he's supposed to be, seeing how he's, you know, brainwashed.
Their inclusion was to make sure could go "REMEMBER AVENGERS?!??" the entire time :lol

Not what I meant by lifeless. I meant the execution of him as a character was just poorly done. No emotional ties were made and his inclusion was just was poorly thought out. In cap 1 he wasn't even a big deal :lol when he died it was just kinda "ok?" Type feeling.

All Joker related, besides score and cut scenes :lol

Which is a great thing. Why do sequels usually suck? Because they're about the hero AGAIN even though what they have to offer has already been put on the table. Look at im2 and 3, and Thor 2 (even though 1 was already a snooze fest) :x

Making a movie based more on the villan breaths in new life.

That's not why sequels suck. It just highlights how outside of the Joker, the movie is meh.

But joker is the main point of the movie. That's like saying outside of iron man im1 was meh.

And yes, that's why sequels suck. The origin story is usually the most the heros has to offer. The sequels play out like the next episode of a cartoon.

IDK, the movie is titled The Dark Knight for a reason. You criticize Marvel for the usage of the villain, but you can't have it both ways. The same issue applies here. The role is just switched in this case. Joker takes the lead, yet Batman is just in the cut.

No, that's not it at all. There's a great number of stories and elements they could pull from for ANY character. Cap2 proves that alone. It's just a matter on how the writers use all that material and find another route to go.

TDk, Spider-Man 1&2 **** on everything marvel has done so far. Come at me
SM1 is not better than IM1 or Winter Soldier or GotG or Avengers really.

I can let SM2 slide but I personally wouldn't agree it "*****" on IM1 or WS.

LOL what? Terrible comparison.

No. Just no.

If that was the case it'd be call The Clown Prince not The Dark Knight.

TDK is a great movie and it's cuz the villain is the star of it. He dominates every scene he is in. He made the movie what it is. Bats was far from admirable in it. I mean hell to this day you got ppl saying Joker beat Batman in that movie (cuz **** the boat scene, he killed Rachel and made Harvey go crazy and Bats took the fall for it even though it didn't make sense for everybody to just buy that which really put him in to early retirement).

BW wasnt a selling point until at least the avengers. No one went to IM movies because of BW that's for sure

She was definitely a selling point for Cap 2

Nahhhhhhhhhh. Ain't nobody said, yo Scarlett in the film. I'm there midnight B.

The movie made 1.5 billion. Barely anybody saw it at midnight compared to its entire box office haul.

Begins >>>>> IM1

SM2 >>>>>>>>IM1

IM1 had the mosy simplistic story ever which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Again, the whole movie was a success because of RDJ's potrayal of the character. After you get past the excitement of Tony's development of the Mark I the movie is eh. Stain was boring as hell and the last 30 min are suspect at best. Unpopular opinion but IM2 has more rewatch value .

I liked WS as well but agree it was a bit overhyped. After the Hydra infiltration reveal it was a predictable spy movie (not goid really). WS being a beast and the hellacarrier scenes made up for it. Still very enjoyable.

My thing about captain America 2 is that IMO it's just a standard action movie with captain America thrown in. It's not really a super hero movie to me. Like you could out Tom cruise in it and the movie wouldn't skip a beat

The Winter Soldier would've caved in that scientologist's skull after one punch.

No it's pretty much spot on. You complain a different character stands out other than the hero so they shouldn't call it batman? :lol

Yeah, stop

Batman still did a good job, the joker was just THAT much better. You can't say the same for marvel movies. Their bad guys are pretty much usless and not even on screen for the most part.

Cap 2 is the ONLY marvel sequel that's worked. Even at that tdk kills it in every way.

Yea because Tom cruise isn't s super hero. I meant it was standard action spy movie template that had really cool effects. Take marvel characters out of it and put any action star Imani it would still work.

I think he's at a high theta level or whatever so maybe he does have some kind of super power.

The spy movie feel of Cap 2 was what made it cool with me.

Marvel has a large stable of movies. It's nice to switch up styles and tone every now and then.

Nobody cared about anything Batman done in the movie. Nobody.

The only sequel that worked.....so far. Saying sequels don't work period is just false.

Can't say I really cared about him as Kirk, but I don't remember him being bad or anything. But then again, I don't know much about Hal to know if he qualifies or not.

Yeah, your first statment is just wrong

Your second statment is implied. How can I judge what hasn't been made yet? So far the sequel formula has failed almost the entire time though. Only 2 have worked, cap and tdk.

I think dude can act well enough for a superhero flick. I liked him in Star Trek films and you wouldn't even know it was him as a Tremor brother in Smokin' Aces.
