Because Snyder LOVES TDKR. I remember an interview he had around the Watchmen release and his wish was to see a future Batman film based on TDKR. That's really the main reason why I feel the Carrie Kelley Robin will be part of his universe.
I'm also patiently awaiting a still of Batfleck on a horse.
