DeAngelo Hall to be WAIVED by Raiders....

Im surprised there's no reports on who's going to pick him up. Im sure some teams are interested in his services...

ESPN had a million reports on him being cut but nothing on who might pick him up...

I'm guessing the Cowboys pick him up and give him a 8 year extension

I'm sick of oakland they just consistently find ways just to screw up the organization and create more chaos

I was thinking JetPac or FR3SH would be the first to post that pic.

But yeah Deangelo was an idiot for not wanting to have a future with the Falcons and having his wish granted by being sent to the Black Dump.

Hall said earlier this season it took him time to get used to Oakland's man-to-man style of defense after being able to freelance frequently while playing zone with the Falcons. He had 17 interceptions in his four seasons in Atlanta, making the Pro Bowl in 2005 and '06. He had three interceptions this year, but frequently got beaten on big plays.

Hall doesn't know what he's talking about, if JetPac says he was a man to man defender, then dude HAS to be a man to man cover guy. Has to.

Your trying to be funny. But ask Gunna. Dude was used primarily Man to Man here in the A. See Eagles vs. Falcons 06 season opener. See ANY game vs.Steve Smith. See Chad Johnson vs. D. Hall. Infact, See Jay Cutler when D. Hall tried to lie about NOT playing Man the first game of the season.
The DeAngelo Hall Fallout: Nnamdi Asomugha Isn't Happy, Demands Answers
Posted Nov 5th 2008 10:40PM by Adam Gretz (author feed)

The Raiders today officially parted ways with cornerback DeAngelo Hall, and one of his former teammates isn't exactly happy about it. According to Raiders beat writer Jerry McDonald, cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha met a few members of the media at a local eatery and told them to be at his locker after practice because, well, he had a few things to get off his chest.

And that's exactly what he did.
"I'm obviously disappointed. I don't agree with what happened," Asomugha said. "I don't agree with what's going on. But I am just a player so I can't speak on it. I don't make the decisions. All I can do is play but I don't agree with what happened at all."

One of the things that seemed to have Asomugha annoyed the most was the fact Hall only had eight games to prove himself, and went onto explain how this doesn't exactly make guys want to play harder. So, basically, things may actually be getting worse in Oakland.http://

According to McDonald, the Raiders are going to use Chris Johnson as Hall's replacement in the starting lineup. As head coach Tom Cable puts it, "at some point it became he was the second best corner here." Frankly, that sounds like a problem.

Asomugha, meanwhile, plans on doing the unthinkable and marching into Al Davis' lair and getting a few answers as to what exactly is going on out there.
As the team captain, Asomugha said he was informed by Cable of the decision but wasn't given a reason. He said he told Cable what he thought and intends to seek a meeting with Al Davis. Asomugha also isn't happy with the Ronald Curry or Michael Huff benchings and how they were handled. "I haven't spoken to him yet. I'm sure I'll be speaking to him soon," Asomugha said. "Just about the nature of what's going on. I think I've been here long enough that we can have that discussion, how this thing can get better."
I'm sure this will all end well.

Of course, because this is the Raiders we're talking about, there's always more to the story. According to Mike Florio over at PFT, the Raiders, reportedly, offered Hall a chance to remain in Oakland ... if he was willing to give up his injury settlement guarantee. He refused, presumably, because it's potentially worth $16 million.

..and here's the article that's linked in the above article..
Asomugha, Wilson back Hall
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 at 5:09 pm in Oakland Raiders.

Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha stood in front of a locker which was stripped in an X by medical tape, with the words, "Franchised forever!" penciled in by a playful teammate, safety Rashad Baker.

Asomugha, however, was in a more serious mood. He didn't understand the Raiders' decision to cut cornerback DeAngelo Hall and wanted to say so on the record. Asomugha, in fact, ran into a few reporters at a local deli at lunch and urged them to be at his locker after practice.

Asomugha declined to answer any questions regarding his own contract and whether he would consider a long-term contract with the Raiders. He answered virtually everything else.

So did safety Gibril Wilson, who admitted he thought he might be the one sent packing.

While Tom Cable was responsible for pushing the company line, saying it was a necessary move designed to elicit better play as team and refusing to be critical of Hall, and a team spokesman said it wasn't about money, Asomugha had different ideas.

"I'm obviously disappointed. I don't agree with what happened," Asomugha said. "I don't agree with what's going on. But I am just a player so I can't speak on it. I don't make the decisions. All I can do is play but I don't agree with what happened at all."

Asomugha felt Hall was adjusting to playing in an almost exclusively man-to-man scheme and was the victim of a rash decision.

"He had eight games to prove himself which is what really got me. I was sitting at home last night, watching the election and all that and excited, and then he calls me, hurt," Asomugha said. "He wanted to finish out the season here and he told me he was getting cut and it was just shocking. I couldn't make any sense of it. He had eight games to prove himself. I don't think that was enough."

Cable stressed that the move would send a message that the Raiders are serious about the second half of the season. Wilson got the message, all right, but not the one that was intended.

"It's almost like we're throwing in the towel," Wilson said. "We have eight games to go and we're two games down in the division. All we need to do is get on a roll in November and the next thing you know we're right back in this thing."

Said Asomugha: "I do know that guys, after seeing that, it's not one of those things that is making guys go out and want to play harder. It's one of things that guys are looking like, 'I could be next, so let me not make a mistake.' That's a difficult thing to play with on Sundays."

Asomugha said Hall told him, "it was a matter of his play wasn't up to par with what he's being paid."

Asomugha talked of players being on edge of late, and Wilson conceded he wondered about his own future as a free agent acquisition.

"I talked to `D' last night and me and him have the same agent," Wilson said. "I thought it was actually going to be me or him. It's him and it's just a messed up situation. I don't know what else more to say. `D' was a good football player and we needed him. It's kind of disappointing that we still have eight games to go and we got rid of one of the best corners."

A Raider since 2003, Asomugha joined the franchise at the start of its 21-67 tailspin, and while he wouldn't talk about his contract or status as a franchise player, it's clear he's tired of all the drama.

"You're paid to deal with problems," Asomugha said. "At the same time, six years and running, you do get tired of a lot of things. Mind, body and soul, everything, you do get tired. Straight up. No lie."

Wilson wondered what how the Raiders circus would play in New York, where he played with the Giants.

"This is a soap opera. I just think we need to settle on something," Wilson said. "We need to have a vision of where we're trying to take this team. If you don't have a vision and you're just trying to plug in players, then you're always going to get the same results."

i'm sure nnamdi will be LIVID if he gets franchised again..

He will be

and that's the sad thing....there are two groups of "franchised" players...Nnamdi falls in the one where he can be franchisedagain next season. I just looked it up. And sulking and trying to force a trade won't work...al davis will make your life miserable and keep u as a Raideruntil your contract is up.

Nnamdi had the same clause in his franchise tender that Asante Samuel and Lance Briggs had in there contract(playing something percentage of snaps etc etc). Hecan't be franchised again, he'll be a UFA next year. So look for him to dip next year. Hopefully to Sunny South Florida...

I said that before he got dealt to the Raiders.

Now that, Al D. gave him that big %$* contract we can't claim him cuz of cap space.

Unless he clears waivers and he's willing to accept somewhere around the league minimum, he's an after thought for us.

Plus, I'd rather have Lowery take his lumps now and try to improve than bring in another FA that would have to workin this season.

At some point we're gonna have to become a team w/ some chemistry, rather than pulling in random pieces hoping they'll be the answer.

Im surprised nobody has tried to kill Al Davis yet... I mean there has got to be somebody out there that is contemplating trying...

In all seriousness though, the team will never be good if Al Davis is involved. So many rash and stupid decisions.

I have respect for those Raider fans out there... gotta be tough to stick it through

Agreed. Especially with that contract... no chance.
I hear that David Barrett has been taking reps with the first team defense this week, and it won't be surprising if he starts.
Even though Lowery looked like a steal in the pre-season and early on in the reg. season, QB's have been picking on him consistently.

But what a bizarre move. Shows that Al Davis doesn't play around. lol
Rich Gannon better start getting ready... I can see him being signed and playing the second half if Russell doesn't bring it this coming Sunday. lol
