Alright, so I talked to Kofi tonight about the belts. As I remembered, he confirmed it was right after Mania last year. Someone had a thing where they needed to be able to undo and re-snap the belts really quickly, so Vince decided Velcro was the answer. Sounds like it was only supposed to be a 1-time thing, and the next thing they knew, all the belts were switched to Velcro.
