I took them to my local guy who does a fine job hemming regular pants but about 30 mins later I began to think it was a bad idea so went back to get them - but he'd already cut them.

2 things I suppose - I haven't washed them so hope the length will be okay but the main thing is that he said that he could make them look like they are now by reusing the original hem. Does that actually look any good?

I've always wondered why they can't just hem jeans like they are out of the factory. I found a guy locally who is a denim specialist who has an overlocker which looks a nice job. I guess it might be an expensive lesson and I'll do it right next time. I guess they might turn out okay but now I have to wait until Monday to find out.
if the timberland jeans are dry, expect the length to shrink
i'm sure your guy won't steer you wrong though, just see how it turns out and keep us updated; hopefully everything works out
I got away with it - he did a pretty decent job and you have to look hard to see the join.

They are a bit long but I haven't washed them yet so that's not a problem - and actually I've been wearing them as they are and they look fine.
glad they worked out homie

My denim brethren.....I like most of you like to rock Nike basketball shoes for casual wear from time to time. The problem I run into alot of the time is that I wear a size 12 and most of my jeans fit like Levi 511s. So obviously that combo ends up looking like I'm rocking clown shoes

I'm hoping someone would know of a brand I should look at that will have a "fitted" appearance, but has a big enough opening at the bottom to sit "right" on basketball shoes.

* Here's an example of the look I'm going for. And if it matters I'm 6ft, 186lbs, athletic build (no romo

Anyone have experience with Tellason or Imogene + Willie denim? Both look pretty nice, but haven't seen them in person yet.

This threads been kind of dead. Let's bring it back vol back to school.

I'm trying to step my pants game up NT brethren. Currently I'm messing with levis 511 and 514. Can anyone recommend me some brands and styles that a high school student with a job can buy. I'm looking for something kind of baggy, but still with a fitted type of appearance, if that makes any sense, something like Wale's since his denim is always on point, but I doubt I can afford it.

Any help is appreciatted.

looking to get my first pair of jeans tailored what measurements should i know beforehand besides Waist size and Length?

my guess would be measure your favorite pair of jeans and tweak some of measure means to your ideal fit?

but getting it tailored tho? how much dough is that?

maybe try looking at different brands that are similar to your ideal fit.

save some dough hopefully

. Feedback is hella slow in this thread.

Not sure if you guys are looking for raw denim or not, but i'm gonna assume so because that's pretty much the main topic of this thread.
Unbranded's are the cheapest bang for your buck as far as raw denim goes, younger guys rave about the 201 (tapered fit). A pair can easily be
found at Urban Outfitters for 40-80 bucks. I've also heard good things about Uniqlo raw's as a starter pair. Check out Naked & famous as well,
you can find them on sale sometimes at karmaloop. Last, check your local Polo outlet for RRL slim rigid's they're usually 50 bucks and are pretty
good denim imo. Hope that helps.

I've had my RRL slims for about a year and they still aren't broken in. Haven't worn them much since the winter.

if you got $200 to spare, buy APC's. Once you buy them, come back here and we will teach you what to do next.

had apc denim since '07 bakc when they only cost 140 kiddo

sucks how APC hiked up their price so much :smh:

i think if you're in the $200 range, you might want to consider other brands

for those asking for denim recommendations, it would help us a lot if you provided your measurements, denim style you're looking for and your budget

yep thats what all the hype/demand will do.

i like the apc new standard cut alot. my other pair of nudie avg joe's are the only exception. fit perfect and tapered just right. :smokin

I'm looking for something lighter and maybe slimmer than samurai 710s (check sig), what are alternatives to APC in about the same price range?

You sound like a tool.

Really dude? Just wear the jeans.

Was looking for a pair of naked and famous jeans. I am a big levi's 511 fan. But the skinny guy in the pics look like they fit strange. The weird guy looks like it fits a little better but i prefer skinny cut vs straight leg.

Any pics of skinny guy fits? or any suggestions on sizing vs levis 511? I size up normally in a 34x32

I'm having trouble finding jeans that fit well. I'm 5'9", 145, (skinny dude), 32 waist. I'm basically long and slim, and I can't find any pairs of jeans that fit well. Looking for slim jeans, but not skinny.

Any recommendations?
