Damn I need to get on and level my Titan's gear. 36 light helmet and 33 light gloves and chest, but haven't gotten new boots yet. They are still 30

That's the thing, I need those damn Commendations and its gonna be awhile before I hit the next level in either to be able to buy them. And I thought the raid gear went up to 33 now after TDB dropped. Am I wrong?

The new raid did. The old raid is still 30.
You only need the commendations for the helm and chest pieces. Upgrade an exotic helm and then you only need 1 for the chest piece.

VoG gear is still 30 light so it's pointless. Boots and gloves don't need commendations, only the chest and helm.
Have an exotic helm with 36 light, max that out and then buy 2 pieces of 33 light gear or better yet 3 to hit 31. If you have 1 piece of 30 light, 2 pieces of 33 light and 1 exotic with 36 you'll be 31.

Ah ok cool. I have a new exotic helm. As well as potential 33 Boots and gauntlets.... so I guess at this point I just need a replacement for my max 27 chest piece

Knocked out Nightfall w/ some GAFers, killed it in 20mins, helped they both had maxed out Fatebringers. I used my Plan C and P&T. What did I get? Another Plan C, lol, the stronger version tho, but still

old raid gear is not useless, it's a placeholder for 30. you can interchange it while leveling new vanguard gear. you can shard it once your new vanguard gear hits 30...

Old raid isn't entirely useless... its still pretty good to get Ascendant materials to upgrade the new legendary gear/weapons.. also you can get some Exotics and potentially upgrade them through Xur.

I finally got atheon epilogue after helping some friends with the hard mode raid. They gave me 2 lol... So the raid isn't entirely useless I guess lol. I would run it on normal to try to get shards at least.

Compared to any new gear it is completely useless. No reason to go for vault of glass gear and run a full raid and hope to get rng to drop for you. Then level it up and then run the new stuff and then level that up too. Instead you can run tiger strikes and bounties to get your vanguard rep up. Not to mention all the blue engrams you will get and then cryptarch will level up and you will get a vanguard package that could turn into new legendary gear. I got three new gauntlets, two boots to go along with my new exotic helms and chest piece that I bought from vanguard. Instant leveling up.
Why waste time running vog? The only reason to run it would be farming for ascendant materials. Other than that it is useless. Youre going to have to level up vanguard stuff eventually. Why not do it right the first time?
You only need vanguard commendation for helmets or chests. Boots and gauntlets you don't need. And if you have multiple characters you can use the vanguard marks on multiple characters to buy stuff you need.

Got 2 legenedary engrams from leveling up my cryptarch rank. The legendary engrams were an assault rifle called For The People and then my second one was For The People. What the I need to read NikeTalk's rules.????

At least you got some weapons you could use. The vanguard, 6x since Tuesday, has given me a shotgun, rocketlauncher, energy, and shards that's it. Shotgun is straight trash and just became more energy. And the rocketlauncher was one with one rocket in the chamber....

When I leveled up my vanguard it gave me a new vanguard warlock chest piece. The perks are trash tho lol. I'll lvl it up anyways til I get a better one
