The elevator is an alien that's already dead but doesn't know it and regardless of the fact that it's allergic to water the elevator is stupid enough to come to a planet that's covered in it and the when the elevator gets too crowded it let's off some weird toxin when you push the buttons and you get off on the wrong floor and die...
