does any one know how to fix a freezing ps3?

Try updating the firmware. Oh yeah, it's not running hot, is it?
NO!  On the PS3 boards some people are claiming the latest firmware is makeing their PS3's crap out.

Since I started hearing about it I have just played offline until I hear of an update that alleviates the problem so my launch day 60gb is still going strong.  This single player thing ain't half bad...

Same thing happened to my 80GB except mine happened after the 3.0 firmware update. I called Sony and they said that I can get the 80GB repaired for like $140 plus shipping and taxes or exchange it for a Slim for $119 plus shipping and taxes. I went with the Slim.
