I wouldn't call him a "loser" before Drake. He was always talented and already had a cult following. The Weeknd and his original producer Jeremy Rose had already created that dark sound and all the cool hipster kids were worshipping him already. I would say Drake created a commercial platform for him, which is huge, but to call him a loser? nahI'm a huge Weeknd fan but let's not pretend he doesn't owe his career to Drizzy. Not a doubt in my mind w/o the Drake co-sign he'd still be a loser in Toronto. Whether or not he signed with Drake is a separate issue, like maybe the deal was garbage, who knows. But y'all claiming he would've been hot w/o the co-sign are straight delusional.
