Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Placed my first and most likely only order with TOJ today. Black leather MA-1. I figure if I ever want a rider or A2, there's always Schott and a ton of other brands, but in terms of leather MA-1's, I would be hard pressed to find another. Should end up looking like this:

700

Expensive day. Expensive month. I'm in the process of getting rid of a lot of my "stuff" and replacing them with high quality pieces that I can foresee lasting me a long, long time.
There was a time when I was really into leather. I was buying a ToJ piece every month for 6 months or so

Came today in the mail:

I said the $1000+ suits aren't really appropriate for this thread. You guys agree with me on this.
I said JC Penney suits are bad quality. You guys agree with me on this.
I said JC Penney suits generally have a bad fit to them. You guys agree with me on this.

Again, where is the disagreement here?

I wouldn't reccommend JC Penney suits because of bad quality and their ill-fitting suits. This makes me a snob? For not recommending bad quality and ill-fitting suits? Y'all serious?

Tell me, Serg. Did you end up altering that ill-fitting glen plaid suit from JC Penney? Or did you return it completely? I'm betting on the latter. Would alterations have made that suit fit perfectly, or close to it? At what cost?

*edit* adding more on JC Penney suits

They will be much more ill-fitting than say the the fast fashion brands like H&M, Zara, etc. JC Penney suits will have a much more boxier fit, but this can be fixed. Sleeves will be much more fuller. Same with the pants. Armholes would probably huge and low (which you can't fix). The biggest problem would be the fit and construction of the shoulders. There will most likely be more than substantial shoulder pads and will just be bigger in general.

If we're talking about quality, the cheap suits will probably be a polyester blend, which will develop a sheen after contact with say a chair. You'll have a shiny butt .. Fabric probably wouldn't drape well either.

I wouldn't want to spend $200 on alterations on a $100 JC Penney suit. Would you?

what do you mean by bad quality? I have zara and HM suits and they are both just as "bad" as JCPenny, and thy cost more. I believe it was about a month ago, I bought a jcp suit for maybe $120 and got it altered for another $80 and it fits great. Nobody knows what kind of suit it is, only that the fit on me is great. I'm not sure why your quality standards are so high. I know Im not draped in the finest Kings robes. Thats not what I paid for, but I disagree with the ill fitting remark. Im 5'4 so pretty much every suit I buy off the rack is ill fitting and needs to be tailored.

And also its not like JCPenny only has 1 brand. Like most other department stores, there are various brands of suits.

You can have the opinion that they are bad quality, but the way you wrote it, and pretty much everybody agrees came off as snobby.

Tom Ford suits

anyone like?
Yep. But at $5k+, I'm not sure if I would ever get one because I think I'd choose bespoke.

Love them.

Someday. :frown:
Or work at the store so you can get an allowance to buy the stuff   Same goes for all luxury brands

Fit pic of the Jil Sanders soon?
Maybe 2-3 weeks? They fit kind of loose so I just ordered the next size down. If that fits better then that I will keep that. If not, I'll return them and have these slimmed a bit. Details are nice, down to the angle of the pockets. Not sure if I want to install cuffs on them though, kinda wanna go with a minimalist look.

Repped. Scooped the red tie.

And news, I wouldn't pay $145 for it either...thankfully I didn't have to :pimp:

Edit:
Just realized its "long". Looks like that back end will be getting tucked into my shirt

precisely why I bought the long tie. tryna get that long back end look. regular length ties are usually barely long enough to reach to the little loop in the back for me

try a double four in hand for a more substantial tie knot (and to use more of the tie)

Just ordered the purple rep tie, good looks. I returned the 38x32 last week, didn't like how they looked, the pockets in the from aren't my thing. Repped!
