Dressing Better Vol 2.0

I really like UA cold weather shirts. They keep you warm and do exactly what they say they will. If you're looking for something to wear under dress clothes, I don't really think it would be a little uncomfortable while inside? I've never done it though so it might be fine.

I asked this a few pages back but as you can tell, it was easily lost today :lol

Does anyone use magnetic collar stays and if so are they worth it? how many of the magnets do you lose on average?

Cool, definitely going to consider it. My boy at work has this Champion brand one and he says it's pretty good and that he prefers it over his UA one. Someone did reply and I think they said that they won't go back to plastic stays ever again as they give your collar a much better "standing" for lack of better words. To just make sure you take em out before washing.

So I've developed a thing for color blocking. Picked this up from J Crew after dinner tonight. Entire store is 25% off, but it doesn't stack with student discounts :(

1000

I like it, love the sneakers! Rosche's?

It's funny that this is one of a few threads that don't turn into some kind of name calling, race war ridden arguments and typically remains positive and more like a lounge type vibe yet the anger still pervades :lol it's one of the longest threads on general so it's naturally gonna be more "clique like" when there's a big group of regular commenters who share a similar interest whether that be to just impress girls, do it for themselves, or to step up to their wife/girlfriend. It doesn't and shouldn't matter, why do I care what someone else dresses up for or if they wear something I personally don't see as my style? It's still interesting.

I feel like a small number of people on nt have a misconception of what people in here post about (having never even been through the thread) and then it turns into some high school wannabe cool kid vibe like "oh nah those cats are homo" or something which just sounds even dumber or more judgmental than the people they're accusing of acting in that very manner. My advice to everyone is do you :lol I don't see this thread hurting anybody, in fact just the opposite. I like when new posters come in as it adds more varied opinions on things, even when people disagree for the most part it's civil. :lol like people in here go around haughtily laughing at people wearing jeans and sneakers out in public on a casual tip...y'all should check into some posts on style forum if you want to see what that attitude is really like.

Anyways back to the thread though

On another note as I'm highly considering this as I have a feeling this winter is going to be BRUTAL, how are the Under Armour cold weather shirts? How warm do they really keep you? I sweat easily which is the one thing keeping me from it. Thoughts?

Mychal had high praise for the wurkin stiffs and I picked mine up at Nordstrom rack...I'd say they're worth it and it makes a visible difference. I don't go without them now :lol unless I'm wearing a sport shirt or a casual button down, they don't come loose either which I was worried about initially :smokin

I still got at least 3 bins full of sneakers so I can't justify buying a pair of Rosche's, yet lol

Only sneakers I really wear now are those and JP but I hate the way the last two pairs of JP were so I'm done with them. Still need a pair of flyknits and still want a pair of GATS and Lanvin low tops whenever I can afford them.

But Roshes price and styling are amazing. Plus I have liked pretty much every colorway that they've came out with

Yup. I swear I'll end up with a closet full of Roshes before it's all said and done

Dope fit bro. Like the roshes with the sweater. Perfect casual yet still stylish fit. They are priced well and just look awesome.

Think about copping some Flyknits bruh. They are actually more comfortable than Roshes imo

i know dan did this in the early styleblogger days

and since we kinda did it sarcastically with foambs

i say we do it for real

sneaker essentials from your basketball/hypebeast (lol) days you can incorporate into DB:

1) AJI- iconic silhouette, definitely not as bulky as other jordan models.

2) German Army Trainers- although i am a bit partial to the MMM repo, this style of shoe is slim and attractive but not flimsy if you know what i mean

3) AJIII- this will always be the perfect sneaker to me.

There's a really dope designer sneakers thread in Sneaker Showcase. I had to stop lurking because I was getting too salty at the fact that I'm too broke to afford any of the stuff I liked.
Pretty much everything in there can easily be worn in a sweet SW&D fit

This sounds cool and something that is doable I think. I'd be limited to doing it at most 2 times a week, but at least once for sure due to my career.

Yes.

Aside from RFX, I'm not sure who else is still here from the start of the first thread. This thread has come quite a distance from its start. Back then, as Lyon pointed out a lot of members were being called 'gay' for posting up pictures of themselves in a dress shirt and tie. The vibe in here, for the most part, has been very positive and the joking has been among those who are acquainted with one another in a lighthearted manner. I'm proud of what this thread has turned into, aside from the last couple of days, which you guys are just feeding into the fire by constantly replying. The crowd here is great and made of a diverse mix, from the doctor to food truck owner to the teacher, accountant, soon to be IT personnel, etc. and it has evolved beyond clothing. Career and life advices are normally talked about, which is pretty nice and the members look out for each other with whatever hookups they can.

To the regular dudes: just keep on posting like before. Don't let the last couple of days wipe out what took years to build. At the rate this is going, the thread is going down like many others on NT.

I think I'm retiring. May pop in Nii style
Sometimes I feel the same way, J. Can't let the thread burn in flames though...stick around, bud.

Infrared AM90s will forever be my favorite sneaker. My only pair is busted to hell though
I was never much of a sneakerhead, but the main reason why I joined NT in the first place was to get info on the infrared AM90s I believe. Only Jordans I ever owned were cool grey 4s and red and white 10s.

lol Wis at one point you did call it quits then came back with some :hat fits. I remember first posting in the old thread about what to wear to an interview wayyyy back in the day when I was still an EE major. Ended up wearing a gingham shirt, brown cords, DBs and a hoody :lol. I still got the job though, and was eventually let go because I changed my major

Probably the most classic Air Max that can be worn anyway you feel. Still need to find a 2010 pair. Didn't like the fuse joints

the infrared am90 is such a strange shoe. i loooooove the look of it.

but ive owned several of the retros and when they are on my feet it just bothers me.

im gonna try to make more pics for reference since my job allows me to really blur the lines of business casual.

adrian told me the timer app so selfies on deck...

as soon as this stupid fone updates lol

I figured out why I look so weird in dress pants, my goddamn legs are like a 29-30 lenght and my torso is extra long.

I was leaving work today and saw my chinos were so big :x
I mean like need to be tailored to a correct length.
Thank god my mom knows how to do all that :lol

When you have shorter legs and a longer torso a few things are important.
Monotone pants with matching shoes should always be worn together. Black pants/Black shoes, Brown/Brown. This gives the illusion of length.
Well fitted pants is very important.
Avoid Wide leg/Boot cut jeans
If you wear a belt and tuck your shirt, you should have on a cardigan or blazer (difficult in warmer weather)

Damn

I mean black and black I get.

When I wear khaki chinos, I wear brown shoes.

What do I wear with blue if thats the case?

How much did you get them for at Nordstrom Rack?

I think I'm gonna try to scoop up a new suit tomorrow for an upcoming interview.

I'm looking to pick up a navy one, and my budget's $400.  Can you guys suggest a couple to me?

Also, saw this while checking out an old GQ:
Yep, the black suit is starting to make a comeback. And you don't have to wear light colors in the summer as long as the suit itself is lightweight, like this cotton one. That means you can keep your sleek urban edge all year round.

Suit, $324 by United Colors of Benetton. Shirt by Canali. Tie American Eagle Outfitters. Pocket square by Ivy Prepster. Loafers by Boss.

Thoughts?  I know that's basically blasphemy to most in the U.S. these days.
