I wouldnt mind a varsity jacket, but I'd want one for less than $100, just as an occasional jacket to wear.

My issue is, I normally wear a XL or XXL in clothes, XL usually being fine. However, I wear a 32/33 sleeve length in dress shirts, and am worried any XL varsity I buy online, will have the sleeves too long

any insight to a good choice?

Varsity jackets tends to have ribbed cuffs and that will keep the sleeves right there by your wrist so the length should not be a problem. There might be some stacking but it should be minimal.

True to size, mine is a large and I wear a large in pretty much everything, though in some pieces I'm an XL. Allows for a bit of layering which is really nice. It's a really good substitute for a hoody/beater jacket

Thanks bro. It's usually a bit longer since it's kind of pulled up in the picture but I could probably use a size up. Next time I put in a Uniqlo order I'll definitely be getting XL t shirts

It's tough to find a good one IMO near $100 unless you're cool with synthetics but this JCP one is supposedly decent and it's really cheap with the 30% off coupon on the page:

I'd ordered this one from Reason (when it was more expensive) and the sizing sucked but I'd read they worked out some issues with the fit. Body fit well but the sleeves were like a foot wide:

i like that bomber jacket posted above.  I have had an Alpha MA-1 in my closet since 10th grade, haha.  They are puffy and run large, but are durable and well worth the $.  Alpha as a brand is solid.  I just gave my N2B parka to charity today, which was puffy and classic, and replaced it with a Nuptse, which is puffy and not so stylish.  But hey, I am getting older and I opted for easy/versatile this winter.
