Dressing better

Edit: that sounded kinda gay.

Nothing against you in particular but every guys think they have giagntic thighs for some reason. When it comes to jeans, they tend to stretch, a lot. Especially Levis where it says stretch in the sticker, try buying a pair of 514's that feels and looks tight, wear it a a couple of times and they will stretch 2-3 sizes. Just make sure it says "stretch" on it and you'd be good.
I honestly used to think the same way, I was asking on other forums what jeans are right for me because I have huge thighs from basketball and running, etc... I said I always said 514's were the perfect jeans, you can even see it fromt he beginning of this thread. Then I tried on the 511's and that's practically all I wear now. Then I said 511's are the slimmest I'd wear and then I tried on the 510's and just sized up and they fit me well too. So it is just trial and error and don't be too afraid to try different sizings out.
If you guys are into raw denim, Imperial Shearers got lots of room in the thigh area with a taper.

Haha.

I'm all for some break, but that is too much in my opinion. Looks sloppy.
Why is your tie barely hitting your belly button?

Personally I wash all my shirts and iron them the morning I am going to wear them. Dry cleaning is the best option if you want them perfect but I am too cheap for that. I have been thinking about investing in a hand held steamer...any people have these??

Two ways to keep collars more crisp is to button your shirt all the way to the top button when they hang in your closet and a nice metal or solid plastic collar stay for when you wear your shirts. I'm not sure is people keep the collar stays in while they hang, that seems like a good idea but I just toss them in when I wear them.

Insane. Like do they have special powers that suck the sweat off your thighs? Even if I could afford that, I wouldn't buy it. Just sounds foolish.

To be honest, it isn't easy to justify to anyone but the materials used are better (Lanvin used cashmere), construction (it won't fall apart or change shape after a wash) and design plays a role (they're not your usual plain sweats for the most part) and of course you pay some for the name as well. Fit plays a part too, the slim sweatpants are rarely available from Champion or other lower end brands. There is also something about the look when it is worn, hard to explain but the best example is Lanvin sneakers. They look like just regular sneakers but the way it is made and how it looks conveys some luxury to it, I know at this point it may sound a bit crazy but it is true for the most part.

i guess you can make anything into a designer / luxury item with a premium price.  even if i was making 6-7 figures i couldn't picture myself buying $500 sweatpants.  not that practical to me.  i wear sweatpants to the gym or when i'm lazy and want to be comfortable.  if i messed up $500 pants at the gym i'd be mad as hell and feel stupid.

im launching our store's website this week, facebook store at all...steven allen paul smith, a bunch of stuff @ half off...basics too, chambray oxfords and the likes...what do you guys think about marketing all this stuff?  most is non-sale stuff from these folks...lmk

If I had sweatpants that expensive,
I wouldn't even want to fart in them.

Since we are talking Jean issues. I've been rocking 514's, what are your guys tips to avoid bulges in the pockets. Even with 569's it was an issue (minor).

Slim wallet (check)
iPhone (check)
keys (back pocket)

While we're all discussing transitions within our personal style...am I the only worn torn about picking up the Royal Foam Ones? I've clearly been neglecting sneakers for the past 5 months and I've been wanting the Royal Foams for a loooong time now. But, I can't help but think, the $200 I would drop on them would be better used else where in my closet

. It's kinda hard to fathom not wearing sneakers, but I think I'm getting there...

Your a grown +$* man and you are conflicted over what you want. C"mon son if you still show interest in sneakers buy them . You aren't to grown for sneakers you are never to grown for them. I mean Foams are pretty versatile they can be used as boots or as sneakers depending on the season.

Dude, is this the first page you came across in this thread? Have you read anything else?

Just because I'm a grown *** man doesn't mean I can't be slightly conflicted when it comes to my personal style. Going from just sneakers to dress boots, driving shoes, wingtips, etc. can be a tough when it comes to where you're going to spend your money...especially when your funds aren't unlimited.

Btw, if you're rocking Foams as boots, this is not the thread for you

Personally, I would put that money towards some other footwear.  I just returned a pair of YSL sneakers and instead ordered a pair of cigar shell cordovan Alden captoe boots w/ commando soles.  Should be here by Wednesday and I'll post pictures then.

We might no longer be copping every single release (I never did) but,
there are some shoes you still just gotta have, even though now you
might be rocking shoes like bucks or wingtips most of the time.

For me it's a pair of 99' white/cement IV's (

), and a couple others.

If those Foams are one of those pairs you just gotta have, you should get em'.

i found a sweater in my closet i haven't seen in like a year and i tried it on, but the neck is pretty stretched out. it's a crew neck, but i don't remember if it was supposed to be as loose as it is. it's 50% camel and 50% silk. it says dry clean only. is there anything that can be done to make the neck go back down at all?
