Actually all subways, bridges and tunnels in NYC are shutting down at noon!
At least that's what I just heard on the news!

Every single one from the city?
So if you're still in the city after noon tomorrow, you're on your own with no way to get out besides on foot? Someone should organize an NT summit and we can try and survive this hurricane within the deserted city

New Jersey

State of Emergency declared for the state ahead of the storm
Jets vs. Giants: NFL preseason game, originally scheduled for Saturday night at the Meadowlands, has been shifted to a 2 p.m. kickoff.

PGA Tour: Barclays tournament at Plainfield Country Club in Edison will be reduced to 54 holes, ending on Saturday.

Governor Chris Christie said that all lanes of 28-mile stretch of a major highway in Ocean County would go in only one direction — westward — beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday to help speed the trip away from Long Beach Island, which is connected to the mainland by only a single bridge.
State Officials: Preparing to open an emergency operations center

Gov. Chris Christie: "If I order a mandatory evacuation, you better leave. If it turns out to be less, we should thank our lucky stars."
State Emergency Management Division: Coordinator Frank Donato said public notices will go out on Thursday urging residents to prepare for flooding, high wind and power outages

Casinos Close: Atlantic City casinos shutting down for only the third time since gambling was legalized 33 years ago
New Jersey Transit: All rail service will be suspended as of at 12 p.m. on Saturday

Damn.

Yall stay safe out there.

Obama declared a state of emergency for NY.

Pretty sure most of LI will have a mandatory evacuation by tomorrow.

So what exactly would make this hurricane dangerous to those in Coney Island, Long Island, etc?

The flooding? Or actual wind?

Im in the Bronx, in a building so the only thing im worried about is my windows going out cause it tends to be windy on my block, and if the power goes out.

I work at the Empire State Building, and I'll be going to work tomorrow at 5am, I get out at noon tomorrow, and I drive into the city from Long Island. Everything should be ok for me, but I'm not happy going to work tomorrow, I have no choice.
