Ebay StockX Goat Etc.

Those yeezy v2 Oreos still available for retail? Wanted to get a gift for my younger sis.

Ah I see. I grabbed the rubber dunks. I wonder how many people in top star are just copping to resell. I’m grateful to be in it to grab **** for myself.
Then why did you grab those monstrosities?
I will say eBay has definitely stepped up in recent years for sellers. I sold some AMM 3s and they shipped to the authenticate. As soon as he shipped them to buyer the buyer filed a claim the same day. Luckily eBay sided with me but I feel like in years past that would’ve been a big L for me.

I do wish they’d penalize non paying buyers and allow you to leave negative feedback. Also would like to be able to communicate with buyers after they receive the item from authenticator (always potential for more deals).

Needless to say they’ve surpassed Stock X for selling IMO
I had someone try to file a claim on a pair I sold too…buyers don’t have a leg to stand on if it passes authentication

Is eBay doing the 1099 for over $600 in sales this year? If under $600, it’s no 1099, correct?

Made an offer recently and I had to add my payment method 😎 they need to start this for auctions.

Somebody grab me electric green 6s in a 13 off topstar.

checked to see what shoes were sold out from the top star sale last week

in addition to the three I mentioned earlier only the Georgetown Dunks, Seafoam Jordan 1 W, black red Yeezy 350's, and the taupe colored Yeezy's on the pic I posted for the sale...don't know the model name cause they're trash

Called eBay asap After reading the email

The rep I spoke with was going to reach out to the authenticators to tell them not to ship to the seller yet and to try and find out why they didn’t pass…she said it could be something like they’re missing extra laces, the tissue paper has been removed, not having factory lacing, etc

She would then pass the issue to Top Star if not resolved

She called back 45 minutes later to tell me that I’m still getting the full refund and they will be getting the same shoes from another seller and sending them to me

eBay is telling me I’m gonna get a follow phone call and **** but it doesn’t happen, twice now

We’ll see what happens with this replacement pair I’m supposed to get

I’m gonna bubble this up to someone’s manager next call

When you’re on the phone with the manager, tell them to send me an invite….

I’ll ask what the criteria is and how they select if I call

I got no word or email on them resolving my Top Star order that failed verification as of Thursday but then a pair magically got delivered Friday 🪄

It’s supposed to be free to boot but I haven’t seen the refund yet despite getting an email 10 days ago saying it was on its way

got this email from ebay yesterday

Tell Congress their new 1099-K rules are confusing and unnecessary

From:eBay
Sent:May-10-22 13:46

Hi Chris,

You may have heard about a new tax law that went into effect this year. We believe this new regulation just doesn’t make sense. It creates confusing and unnecessary paperwork for millions of casual sellers on eBay, who will now receive tax forms even when they don’t owe taxes.

To help support our sellers, we’ve been working to put pressure on Congress by bringing our community together to make their voices heard. We need sellers like you to speak out today and tell Congress to act in the interest of sellers across the US.
Here’s what’s happening

Companies like eBay are required to report sales to the IRS using a tax form called a 1099-K. Until recently, you would only get a 1099-K if you sold over $20,000, or more than 200 items. Starting this year, new legislation has lowered that threshold to just $600, even if that was from a single sale all year. Where it gets complicated is you’ll get this form even if you don’t owe anything, because not all sales are taxable–for example, if you sell something for less than you paid for it. That means millions of sellers will now get unnecessary tax forms, creating confusion and pointless paperwork–both for the IRS, and for small-time sellers who aren’t set up to deal with it.

Imagine selling an old bike for $800 that cost you $1,500 a few years ago. Since you didn’t make a profit, the IRS doesn’t consider that taxable income. But under this new law, you’re still going to get a 1099-K. And now you’ll have to prove to the IRS that you don’t actually owe any taxes on that sale, which makes for complicated accounting work.
Here’s what you can do

We’re asking our community to take action today. Recently, new legislation was introduced in Congress to raise the threshold and limit the number of sellers getting these unnecessary forms. But we need your support to make sure it will pass!

Go to our eBay Main Street website and tell Congress to act now to support Americans selling online. It will only take a few minutes, and if we succeed, it can save you, and millions of other sellers the hassle of needless tax forms for years to come.
We’re committed to making sure all our sellers are set up for success, and will continue to keep you updated. Look for emails and alerts from us that will help explain what’s changed, and what you may need to do next. In the meantime, you can learn more in our FAQ about Form 1099-K and how it affects you.

Thanks for being part of the eBay community.

Same. Interested to see where this goes. I’ve been cautious not to hit that $600 threshold on eBay.

The law is stupid and an attack on the middle class/casual seller. Big sellers are already paying taxes and or have a business license.

Tax them more. This country will screw over the little person every chance it gets. I know it's not related to selling but I picked up some after school tutoring through the school I work at.

$28 per hour. I logged 6 total hours my first week. Of that extra $150 dollars on my paycheck I saw a grand total of an extra $35. I quit doing it.

Ordered some kicks on the 2nd. No tracking, no activity or anything from seller. Gotta wait until the 17th until I can do anything on my end. Two weeks with no tracking or update seems a little too long IMO.

When I click the "I haven't received" I just get a "It looks like it's on its way."

I hope eBay can do something with the feedback system as well. They need to allow you to leave buyers negative feedback or at least an unpaid strike when they buy something and cancel. As far as selling things, I’ve sold 10+ pair that have gone through authenticators then to buyers and not a single feedback. If it passes through an authenticator you should get some type of standard positive feedback

Regarding getting into Top Star, they base it off your buying history and other than that it’s random

That’s coming from the :emoji_horse: mouth

Yeah, they gotta fix the non-paying bidder BS. Today marks the fourth time in about 2 months that I’ve accepted an offer and the buyer just ghosts me. Pretty ridiculous that you can require immediate payment for BIN but not best offer. If places like GOAT and SX can capture payment when an offer is accepted, why can’t eBay? Where else can you enter a legal contract to buy something then get 4 days to maybe make a payment?

It’s the worst. You used to receive an unpaid strike and if you got 3 I believe your account was banned. Don’t get me wrong, they’ve made things GREAT for sellers but they need to fix a few other things too

Was just about to ask how long ebay takes to verify your SSN when updating your info for this "selling over $600 BS." Up until Wednesday, had only sold about $235 this year. Unloaded a bunch of shoes that day, sold 8 of the 11 I posted within an hour. Got the "we can't process your funds until you update your info" message yesterday. Just checked right now and the popup on the app finally went away. Of course, it's the weekend now and they probably won't send my funds until Wed of next week. 3 pairs are going to the authenticator. First time I'm dealing with this as a seller. Hoping no issues.

Currently stuck in the "please update your personal information" loop as I keep trying to update my info for ebay to verify only for the alert to remain and for emails to be sent, telling me I still need to update my info. This whole $600 threshold crap is ******* ridiculous. Everything was smooth until this issue came up and honestly, I no longer will be using the platform for selling after this, as now I'm going to have to wait until Monday to contact customer service in hopes of getting my info verified so that I get the money from my last sale. :smh:

EDIT:
I was hella sleepy while going thru this, now realizing it's because the IRS sucks *** as usual and that's why this is going on. Still not selling anything else after this though. They aren't getting any more money out of me than they already have/do.
