That's what a lot of journalists who have covered this man for decades are saying as well. Not a good look if the Warden is escorting you out the front door with a chopper waiting there. The tunnel was just to save face and make it appear the escape was more elaborate than it really was.

I mean cmon. A half built house is conveniently near this max prison and no one ever thought this would be an easy escape route and a perfect place to build a tunnel? :lol:

The LA Times article said ole boy one time escaped through a hydraulic hatch in his bath tub that lead into the sewers.

Chapo got more trap doors and secreat tunnels than a Scobby Doo episode :smh: :rofl:
