F1 Official Thread - Grand Prix of Britain

No idea. Lol. All I know is that he always drives a Mitsubishi in his movies.

I've been keeping up with F1 these last two years but I dont know enough to participate in conversation, but I had a question. I follow Perez because he's a countryman of mine. How good do you guys think he would he be if he were on one of the top teams?

don't be afraid to post in here, it's usually the same handful of guys every race weekend.

I think he's a good driver, but I wouldn't be able to tell you if he would be considered top tier if he were driving for Red Bull or Mercedes.

That's an interesting question.  I'll have to think about that one... get back to you.

Yea, don't be afraid to comment. Even if it's just your thoughts on how the race or qualifying went.

As for Perez, he's been linked to Ferrari as a replacement for Kimi Raikonnen and he was at Mclaren which tells you that he's a very good driver.
Personally I don't think he'll be at the level of people like Lewis or Vettel but he won't be the No.2 driver who will just be there to collect points either.

I think Perez is quite good, but honestly I don't see him driving for Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull in the future.

A few years ago I thought, that he would be a good #2 for Mercedes or Ferrari, but I don't think that it will happen anymore.

Mercedes will much likely choose Ocon or Wehrlein over him.

Red Bull will give a car to a younger talent, if Max leaves in the future.

His best shot would probably be the #2 spot at Ferrari, with Hulkenberg, Sainz and Grosjean being other possibilities.

Echoing what DDub said, I think Checo is good... he's shown he can one-stop a lot of races which means he's consistent and not too hard on his tires.  But in terms of ultimate pace, he's not there with the likes of Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel, etc.  I'd put him high on the Tier-2 list.

Lewis with the beastly lap.

Thought it would be one of those weekends after all the practice sessions but he just turned it up.
Half a second on Bottas and a second on the Ferraris

2 more poles to equal the record.

So much Injustice in this race :lol

Happy for Stroll. I wished he held onto 2nd place.

Happy and mad at the same time :lol

Lewis was unlucky with the headrest, but it did look like he didn't-accelerate (as opposed to brake-check) Seb.  Dunno what the telemetry ruling is, but that looked a bit odd.

Seb was caught there and did rear-end Lewis as a result, but that was incredibly stupid of him to ram into him like that.  I've seen race suspensions for less.

Both were fools.

That podium tho... what a drive from all three.  That move by Ric at the restart won him the race... what an overtake.  And Stroll, while unlucky to be passed at the finish, still did an awesome job.  Helluva comeback by Bot considering how far back he was.

2 points for McLaren!  Yay.

EDIT

Apparently, the FIA cleared Lewis of any wrong-doing.  Awwww... and the Lewis-Seb relationship was going so well!  Incredible that Seb hasn't owned up to it.

Vettel didn't want to get caught napping again after the first SC so he was too eager.

Can't believe he came out of all this extending his lead in the championship.

Yeah, I think that was what happened.  Checo was all over him during the 1st SC restart... so as soon as the 2nd SC came out, he was well aware that that could happen again.  Tried to stay as close to Lew as possible.

That's exactly it.

Lewis rightly so was giving the SC space.

Like you said, Seb just didn't wanna get caught slippin :lol.

Crazy race. It was carnage out there at some point.
