Fast and Furious Thread: Hobbs and Shaw Spin Off 2019 - Tyrese career ending injury

yea the rock > walhberg when it comes to transformers

rock would lay the smackdown on them candy *** decepticons while marky mark just has that funny confused look on his face all the time

best part of the soft reboot of transformers was tj miller and they killed him off after the first few minutes of the movie

I've spent the past week watching every Fast and the Furious film, for some reason. I'll just give my thoughts on each film...

The Fast and the Furious - It's basically Point Break with street racing instead of surfing.
It also looks like an early 2000s time capsule with the clothes and the music.

2 Fast 2 Furious - A movie title that rivals Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo in hilarious sequel names.
I liked when Tyrese said "Ejecto seato, cuz!" that his best line in all the of F&F films he was in.
Also, Eva Mendes was looking good. The rest of the film was trash.

Tokyo Drift - Lucas Black and his hick *** Alabama accent was the worst thing about this film. (Worse than Lil' Bow Wow.)
If it weren't for the Vin Diesel cameo at the end, you'd never know that it was a Fast and the Furious film.
On the flip side, Han was cool and Sonny Chiba as a Japanese Don Fanucci was awesome.

Fast & Furious - It felt like big budget version of the first film, more or less. It might actually be worse than Tokyo Drift.

Fast Five
- The best film in the franchise and it's the only one that I would actually watch a second time.
The whole heist set-up, bringing back characters from the previous films and adding The Rock as the antagonist really gave this film a much needed dynamic.

Fast & Furious 6 - Almost as good as Fast Five.

Furious 7 -
I'll admit, I got a little emotional at the end when I realized that was it for Paul Walker. :frown:
I felt that Paul Walker (not Vin Diesel) was the heart of the franchise. His absence in 8 was a real indicator of that.
I did like how they connected Tokyo Drift to the rest of the franchise, but that doesn't make Tokyo Drift better though.
30-something Lucas Black (who looked about 45) trying to pretend to be a 17-year old with that receding hairline was hilarious.

The Fate of the Furious - Way too over the top (like Hobbs pushing over a damn torpedo). It was borderline comedy.
Scott "Son of Clint" Eastwood as the Brian stand-in wasn't doing it for me.
I also got a little tired of Vin Diesel in this one.
I know some people were mad that Shaw turned face and joined the Furious, but who really wants to keep rooting against Jason Statham? Dude's just too badass. Just look that prison break scene and the plane sequence with the baby. Now I know why Hobbs and Shaw are getting their own spin-off.

Glad I read that first before I took the plunge. Fast 4 is what sparked the new films, and easily better than Bow Wow Drift

Justin Lin to Return for Next Two ‘Fast & Furious’ Films, Says Vin Diesel
Vin Diesel, in a surprise Facebook livestream, announced on Wednesday afternoon that director Justin Lin would be returning for the next two installments of the “Fast & Furious” series.

Lin, who Diesel referred to as a “forefather of ‘Fast,'” an “architect” of the series’ mythology, and “the one responsible for resurrecting this beautiful saga,” has previously directed four of the eight current entries. Diesel also revealed that Jordana Brewster is returning for the ninth “Fast” film. Brewster’s last appearance in the series was in “Furious 7” when her character Mia Toretto retired from the family business to start a family with the late Paul Walker’s character.

While he didn’t officially say that Lin would be serving as director in the next two installments, as he introduced Lin, Diesel said, “You wanted [movies] nine and 10 to be incredible. We’ve heard your concerns about the saga and where it needs to arrive in its final chapters.”

Also not sure if it's posted not trying to go through the rock and tyrese stuff, but Shane Black is in talks to direct that spin-off.

Man, It's like get over it. Tyrese should honestly be thankful he's in something relevant and popular in this year. Dude needs to learn how to look at a bigger picture. He could easily just be a producer on the spinoff and still get paid off that backend.

While I prefer the spinoff come after the series wraps up I get it. Not only is the studio setting up their financial gain, but you could be a part of that.
The Rock had to do something unspeakable for this man to be acting like this. Dude is like the 11th lead in this franchise, acting like a child.

now this dude is turning down money, over a spin off?

dude is just stressed because they're about to take his daughter away from him due to abuse and taking it out on the Rock

maybe those lawyers fees added up way too quick but dude just seems always about the money and now just sounds too desperate to not have a movie gig for a year or two

I am sure dude is still regularly getting checks off of those residuals/royalties from the Fast Films too

but really if he's gon' try and strong arm on who the studio would keep moving forward, dude is just going to lose

Why is dude so heated? damn. It's a business at the end of the day, that's stupid for a 40 yr old man to not get.

Slightly off topic but this 'abuse' 'ish way out of hand. Kids need to be disciplined and based on what it seems his daughter is being used as a pawn in a nasty divorce. The body language between him and his daughter is not one of a kid being abused physically.

If anything, Tyrese needs to talk to a counsellor, preacher, lawyer, friends and his agent (in no particular order) and just stay the heck off social media. Man's doing himself a disservice by acting a fool on IG, Twitter, etc... and his ex's lawyers will use this stuff against him in court.

I mean, if it's lawyers fees, thats when you don't burn bridges. Had dude just come to Rock, told him straight up the situation, there would've been more than enough room for at least a producer credit on the spin off to get some of that revenue or even had he gone to the studio, or Vin(who I'd be SHOCKED, if he isn't a producer) Dude is just going about it the wrong way and now is spazzin and not gonna do fast 9??? How is that going to solve any of this?

I miss PW in the films for sure, but I feel like none of this behind the scenes shenanigans(the crap with Michelle Rodriguez too) would be going on if he was still there. Not like he would've checked them, but he's a pretty cool head and would've chilled these situations out man.

Tyrese should have kept it a buck from the begin. He needs that next fast check. At first it was about Paul and brotherhood, now he's saying he's almost broke. Going through a custody battle can take a mental toll on a person, top that off with being "broke" can cause a person to go off the deep end, I hope it all works out for buddy.

dudes just not endangering his role in the future FF films but any other films from other studios he may have a chance on being in if he keeps this up
