Fast and Furious Thread: Hobbs and Shaw Spin Off 2019 - Tyrese career ending injury

I do watch these movies solely for comedic purposes though. Since the first movie, all my boys and I care about are corny dialogue and ridiculous stunts to laugh at. Even while watching Fast 5, which people seem to take seriously, we were cracking up at how many people those damn vaults must have killed. In every movie, the crew directly/indirectly kills so many more people than the supposed bad guys do

Based on the reviews in here and some I've heard IRL from longtime fans as myself, I'll be waiting for the home release.

I don't care how unrealistic it is(they are movies), the complaint that kills me is that the characters aren't really there anymore and that was something I knew that would suffer with the loss of PW.

Tyrese and Luda are cool and play off each other great but I feel like PW was great for the more serious characters(letty, dom, rock) no way those cats couldn't crack a smile if O'Connor gave some corny *** line to follow up some corny serious ish Dom would say.

Paul Walker had the right amount of goofiness, heart and charisma and I felt like he leveled out ridiculousness, because he couldn't believe it. In a way I felt his character was the audience, having this entire ridiculous world revealed to them. I remember in Fast 6(?) when they jumped buildings in Dubai and right when Dom pretty much floors it to get to the other building there's a quick cut of Brian and his expression is
"HOLY **** Bro wtf are we doing right now"
it was those little moments that had me dying.
or in the Fast 5 opening when they jump off the train. Dom looks like he practiced this before.
Brian looks serious but he looks unsure as hell falling in the water.
There's something genuine about that in a ridiculous movie.

Without that particular character type in these movies, they just become extremely one note.
I'm not saying Brian grounded these films at all or that these films were multilayered with him.
It just sucks that this character wasn't replaced or was poorly replaced with Tyrese yelling about the antics.

Finally got the chance to go see this movie...... Did jaguar and Subaru give the ok to let they cars be so slow that even a truck can catch them? And why a frs getting movie time anyway:stoneface:

Dead*** if you bring up realism in this series, you either don’t get or just being a ****.

Don’t know if you been the the street lately but the FRS is the new Civic(tbhit was probably a stipulation that came with the Supra. I’m not sure if the Supra was out when they first started filming)Speaking of, Han’s Supra having a similar paint job as his RX-7. :hat

Saw Fast 9 yesterday and I felt it completely sucked…the comic relief parts didn’t land at all. NOBODY laughed. The crazy stunts weren’t even all that cool.

It felt good being in the theatre after almost a year and a half tho.

It’s a good idea that Fast 10 and 11 will conclude the series. The excitement these films bring are waning. And have been so for a while now.

This movie sorely missed PERSONALITIES:

Paul Walker
The Rock
Kurt Russsell
Jason Statham

whole movie i was thinking about how it seems like their shoulda been more people...but really it was personality that was missing.

Finally got a chance to catch the film on date night. I wasn’t expecting much, since Paul walker wasn’t going to be in it. That was the worst modern movie I’ve ever seen. Literally every second was ridiculously stupid. I wish I would’ve watched something else, but I had to support the family

Seen this last night. I was entertained but like Tyrese scene speaking on how he thinks they are invincible and how ridiculous things have become was pretty much my thoughts. My only nitpick was

Luda’s character once they were in space. He said “It’s all numbers, now if we obey physics.” That line hit a nerve because I said out loud…”ohhhh now y’all obey physics! FOH!! Then once the mission was over Luda and Tyrese hopped out the car in space! I jus shook my head. Smh

I really hope they end this next movie tho. I’m not even sure what they can come up with next but I’m sure they’ll figure it out.

Just watched 5 for the zillionth time. Night and day man

Best action movie of all time.
Just put it on and it starts off with Dom in a prison transport bus. Which rinky dink *** bus could hold him now? Son would pop the roof off and use it to fly away.

Part of why it worked so well is they were on the run and desperate, with no idea how they would survive or what's next. Now they know everything and fear nothing.
