Fast and Furious Thread: Hobbs and Shaw Spin Off 2019 - Tyrese career ending injury

I'll also say the writing for Tyrese was lazy. IMO in the previous movies, his dialog and jokes "seemed" more natural/improv as apposed to scripted like in F9.

I just got back from watching F9 at a movie theater.

Even by "shut your brain off" standards, this film was ridiculous with the (lack of) physics and such.

The writing was poor and there was way too many flashback scenes, as if I was watching The Godfather Part II.

Like in The Fate of the Furious, F9 was lacking the presence of Paul Walker. Without him, everyone else feels like they're just going through the motions.

Definitely not watching this one again.

That’s why I call it Far Fetched 9. Paul Walker is definitely missed. Also they need a real villain or need that insane heist angle. This movie was missing both.

Think it’s officially the worst movie in the franchise. Still entertaining though.

Also, first time seeing anything in Dolby Cinema, and that **** was fire.

Worse than Part 2? Or Tokyo Drift? Or Hobbs and Shaw?

Idris Elba is a good actor. Couldn’t really shine with that tepid plot.

And lol at them fighting a cyborg.

Opinions are opinions. I felt extremely disappointed with 2 after I saw it. Same with Hobbs and Shaw. And Tokyo was probably my least favorite.

I agree that the plot/characterization was weak. But the action was good and there was definitely some fan service.

But I totally understand everyone’s criticism. Like I’m not looking forward to seeing Charlize Theron’s character again.

Personally, I only really liked Fast Five. Six was a decent follow up.

I can see why folks loved the car culture in the first three movies.

I’ll say the Fast Franchise sort of morphed into what Expendables should’ve been.

Man i thought tokyo was a good movie 🤷🏽‍♂️.

It's one of those movies that catered around the drifting niche at the time which is why I personally loved it. I thought the movie was actually pretty good, especially having that "level" of casting. But I know it doesn't have the mass appeal all the other movies have so I can see why it's the step-child of the series.

Yeah a big part of liking 1-3 is being into that car culture at the time. Def had an impreza project car I never got around to. Tokyo Drift isn't good but it was cool to see drifting, VIP cars etc. and Han was the charismatic character here like Dom was in 1. 5 is still definitely the best to, it could stand alone. The shift to high stakes blockbuster heist was a surprise but it also really felt like a family.

You have to be truly into the car culture to think Tokyo Drift was actually good.

The only truly good F&F movie is Fast 5. I don’t think they could recreate that. Fast 4 revitalized the franchise while Fast 5 took it to another level. Fast 10 & 11 should definitely wrap it up though. Don’t think you can do anything more with this franchise.

I’m curious what people who were disappointed with F9 we’re expecting.

They’re basically mining fan fiction at this point.

That's why I just looked at it from an entertainment factor. This franchise hasn't been realistic in a long time. They went from street racers to Jason Bourne.

This isn't about a story or good acting. This **** was fun to me.

and they're even in to it, they picked a Fiero for a reason. They're self aware about what they are. Nordic chin
