Fast and Furious Thread: Hobbs and Shaw Spin Off 2019 - Tyrese career ending injury

My top 3 "saga's" are;

1) Star Wars
2) F&F
3) Marvel

Come at me, bros :D But yeah, in all seriousness, I can't think of any movie that has ever impacted my life like the very first F&F movie did.

I mean, it's really easy to see.

Pick ANY franchise. Now from that franchise, show me how it has gained in success/popularity, from the 3rd, to the 4th, to the 5th, to the 6th, and then to the 7th, IE GAINING steam/viewership with each installment?

Not Rocky, Not Die Hard, LOTR/Hobbit, maybe Harry Potter, not back to the Future, not Rambo. Damn sure no Indiana Jones, because 4 was an abortion. :|

There simply isn't one. This is thee first franchise I have ever seen that has gone up, and up and up starting at #3 (the lowest point) They flat out reversed course, and have been chuggin along ever since. :hat

Absolutely 100% agreement. And to think, we get installments in all 3 this year. :hat

Lord of the Rings may be my favorite saga. The Capt America and/or the Avengers movies could top it in the end. Can't forget about the Rocky and Terminator series, both have been great.

Yea I will agree that the trajectory and evolution of the FF series is pretty crazy. Probably unprecedented too.

Exactly. All the other franchises trend down by 3-4-5.

Rocky 4 was great. But Rocky 5-6? :lol

Terminator 3 and 4? :\

Bourne series, by 3-4? :{

Die Hard 3 was amazing, Die Hard 4-5? :lol :lol :lol

LOTR was great, first 3 films, but Hobbit (if we combine the two) has underwhelmed big time. They stretched one book into I think 4 movies? :lol :{

Nightmare on Elm Street 3-4-5-6?????? :rollin

Friday the 13th. :lol :lol

Usually a 2nd or third sequel takes it in the shorts. This joint got 6 sequels already, and just growing by the day. :hat

Taken 3, and if they do a 4th, is getting plain dreadful now.

Meanwhile, the SEVENTH film for this franchise, is shattering all of it's highest marks. And if/when #8 comes that will be hyped to hell. Only thing that can/will affect it is if they do a poor job without Paul, and everyone bails at that point. (and that could potentially happen)

Rocky/LOTR/Indiana Jones and some other franchises I listed all have MULTIPLE CLASSIC movies.

As much as I love the F&F franchise, it doesn't have ONE classic movie that is a MUST see for a cinephile.

F&F doesn't have GREAT movies, just very entertaining.

I value quality as much as I value entertainment.

You can't be a top 3 franchise and not have at least multiple classic movies.

I just want them to quit while they ahead. The series stated with Brian and Dom, I want it to end that way too.

Hollywood is greedy though.

As unintentionally funny as they are FF 1,2 and 3 ARE NOT good movies :lol

They benefited from the actors tiing out being who they did. When they first came out they went straight to tnt :lol

I thought the first movie was really good. The second was just entertaining. Fast 5 is classic IMO, the best of the series.

They're entertaining, no doubt, but I know they're the same caliber movie as trasporter and taken. :lol

I think me liking the cast makes me enjoy the movies no matter what.

True and good point on classics, but it's quite possible Fast 5-6-7 become classics over time.

Rocky 4 wasn't a classic right away, it evolved into one. To me, it is FAR better than 2 and 3. But that takes time.

These last 3 may become classics as more and more people go back and watch them over time.

Also, it is just as important that they can do this well getting to 7, where the others stopped/died off at 3. Just as important as the classic angle, in a way.

1 was good

2 was good

Don't remember 3

I liked Tokyo Drift

5 was crazy good. I remember being surprised by how good it was.

Had high expectations for 6 because of 5, and it didn't quite meet my expectations. So it was disappointing.

7 was more or less what I expected. Probably would've been just as good as 5 if it had more Brian, but that couldn't have been helped.

Probably would rank it, 5 then 7 then 1

BTTF>>> fast series.
I love the BTTF trilogy but that third one almost ruined it. Good movie, just not as good as the first two.

3 was terrible that i wont even watch it if you paid me. I watched it once as a kid dont really remember it but the first 2 ill always watch.

like i said before and ill say it again, the last 2 fast furious movies sucked to me.

they got Statham and used him horribly IMO i thought they would kill it with him

3 is Tokyo Drift.

And 6 is the best film in the franchise. Most complete one of them all. Elevated everything after Five, and brought back Letty, as well as introduced both Shaws.

Villain in Five was cheeks, and that hurts the overall grade. Shaw was a bad *** in Six.
