***Feds Go After Online Poker sites_ 4betJam***

What really sucks about this situation is the time LOST playing poker online. I know my cousin would do 24-36 hour sessions sometimes to up his roll and he used to go through it.

You can't even place a value on the TIME poker players would spend doing this.

This is just a sad situation and I hope it does become legalized so those everyday grinders including my cousin can go back to earning and honest living.

i feel you on the bankroll part but the time invested should be good for a lifetime if they were increasing their skill and perfecting their craft...there are still sites out there to play on and online poker will be back...only problem is alot of the computer grinders are gonna have to step into the brick and mortars now - gonna be a big adjustment

Like I said earlier, I'm more concerned with the lost time than I am with the money I have locked up.

Yeh, there's sites out there that I can play on right now, but do you honestly think I'm about to go deposit on some other site knowing that I have 40% of my roll locked up on 2 sites?

These people in other countries are putting in work, getting better, and I'm sitting in my room playing PS3, it sucks.

This whole legalization process could take up to 3-5 years.

I'm gonna be 25-27 years old by then and I'll have 0 edge over these dudes that were playing during that time.

This whole situation is just $%#+.

I'm honestly thinking about giving up poker at this point because I'm not going from playing thousands of hands a day to playing 30 hands an hour @ the casinos.

Natalie, if you're reading this, come to my house tonight and make sense of this madness.

cant you get a VPN or something to make your ip address from another country so you can play/cash out?

You could do that if PS and FTP allowed you to change your mailing address, but they made it impossible for US players to do that as soon as they got shut down by the DoJ.

It depends how good I'm running.

Some days I'd play 6 hours, some times I'll play 3 days straight.

Up until a few months ago when Black Ops came out, I was probably playing 16 hours a day on average.

Hyper, where do you live?

IBD's/ trading shops (trading more than IBD really)  love online poker pros (maybe the BB's aren't as open..yet). If you put in some effort, you could prob find an IB/ trading job  while all this %!@! gets sorted. Hours are long but pay is pretty good. Not as good as poker netted you but how long were online pro's planning on stayin in the game? 40 years?  The more forward looking one's got into side ventures or their own businesses already.
The set schedule  might be a little hard though.

LI, NY.

A few weeks ago I was thinking about how long I saw myself playing and the answer that I came up with was, "probably until the day that I die".

I love the game and I love the freedoms that come with being a poker player, I couldn't dream of a job more perfect for me.

A lot of people tell me that poker and trading require the same skill set, but, I'm not really into the stock market.

I guess its an option, but I'm not gonna make any big decisions right now.

This just happened 3 days ago, so I'm gonna wait a month or 2 to see if anything happens and then I'll go from there.
