Fidel Castro has Died at 90

I find myself shaking my head at this dude more and more these days.
He spoke on exactly what I saw living in Miami.

Not sure what perception you have...

What folks like ninja don't realize is that self identity is one thing, but what society sees you as is different. I'm half Black and white, people tell me I look like a broke Lenny Kravitz lol, I could go around saying I'm White and identify as white, but in AMERiCAN society many people see me as 100% Black and don't see me as being biracial or White because of the One drop rule. If Yasiel Puig, David Ortiz, Hanley Ramirez, etc. all took a trip to Middle America sans their celebrity status and didn't say a word, people would see them as Black men. In a hyper racialized society like America, that subscribes to the one drop rule your Self-identity doesn't matter.

All those dead, tortured, impoverished and imprisoned people. But at least he let Assata Shakur stay

I have admiration for Castro for standing up against American imperialism and supporting black rights.

BUT that ultimately does not outweigh the senseless crimes he committed against his own people, whom he lied to and deceived once he gained power. **** him

Louisinia is the incarceration capitol of the world. We as Americans should be the last ones criticizing others about imprisonment of citizens. Take a trip to Flint, Baltimore, 9th ward New Orleans,Navajo Rev in New Mexico folks there are def living in 3rd world living conditions.

Did Castro drop Nukes that harmed innocent civilians?

Castro isn't worse than many of our racist and violent Presidents here in the states.

Sounds like what the US has been doing to black folks for hundreds of years.
Unlike Cubans, Black people can make something of themselves despite the hurdles that some may face. We're not oppressed like idiots such as Tariq Nasheed would say. Being followed around by secret police, thrown in a prison b/c you oppose the regime, possibly being executed and never being able to leave your homeland voluntarily is oppression. If you manage to escape overnight, if the voyage doesn't kill you, the Cuban military will.

My dad, an Afro-Cuban, just gave me an earful about what he thought on the situation especially Kaepernick's comments and simply left it at this, if you're not Cuban stay out of it. He's just part of a generation that will never know his native homeland because of what Fidel and Raul have done and what the latter will continue to do.

These clowns ignore the sins of america because they have access to white women, drugs, and smartphones lol

Ironic since I'm not the one in here excusing injustices.

I'm fully aware of American history. Some of the finer details and events may escape me but I have a good grasp on the overall picture.

I'm currently talking about Cuban history, specifically under Fidel Castro. When YOU guys wanna do that feel free to join me.

He looked out for Assata Shakur and the Black Panthers. He good with me.
:lol

I don't get this constant ***** *** tactic to shifting blame and switching the focus to America like that makes what Castro did okay.

Also since when are American citizens directly responsible for what the American government on a local or federal level does when it comes to pointing out somebody is commiting unjustifiable acts of cruelty on innocent ppl?

What kind of ******* dumbass logic is that?

Play that through. The random black American can't speak on injustice in another country cuz of injustice in America? **** outta here with that bull ****.

Y'all lost.

Its a shame. Black ppl up in here defending dictators cuz they were helpful to some black causes. Instead of facing reality just want to block it out with America is worse deflections.

It's funny too cuz the **** y'all doing is the same lame **** when it's a thread about racism towards black ppl and the clowns come through wanting to talk about "black on black" crime or racism towards white ppl.

Y'all should just keep it real. If you want to rep Castro, be willfully ignorant, and hypocrites then openly be that. Just know what kind of company you keep when you do that.

Im not defending a damn thing. I said Im not gonna speak bad about the man because from what I know of him he did good, im not cuban so im not gonna tell cubans how to feel and yall damn sure arent gonna tell me how i should recieve him. If yall got beef with castro thats yalls problem not mine, like I said What I know about him is what he did in Africa and I give respect where respect is due. All that other stuff is yalls problem because Im not Cuban so Im not going to make judgement on his actions there. Take it how you want.

Willfully ignorant. Sounds like some clown **** to me.

Aint nobody asking you to tell Cubans how to feel. You don't even need to be Cuban to acknowlwdge that a dictator is a dictator. Talking about beef and problems. They're called facts b. Stop hiding your head in the sand. Talking about giving respect. Yall ******, man :{

Take your stance and apply it to other ppl and things:

I aint gonna tell them natives how to feel, all I know is Manifest Destiny worked great for me.

I aint gonna tell them Jews how to feel, Hitler did some good for Germany post WWI though.

I aint gonna tell them black ppl how to feel all I know is Reagan, Bush, Jim Crow, etc. did some good for America.

I aint gonna tell them South Africans how to feel, all I know is apartheid worked out well for me.

So yeah I'll take how it is
