FIXED GEARS

It depends if you want to diy just use spray paint. Just make sure to sand, primer, paint and clear.
Or you can get it powder coated.

my friend tried to get me into fixies but it just felt weird having to keep going when you just wanna stop pedaling even if you're not trying to stop. hehad a kilo tt bike too, only thing i liked is that the frame is lightweight. handlebars felt weird as hell since it was so close together.

not fixed gear, but new toy!

disc'd cross.

Yeah,

I think ADAN was saying that road bikes would make a more logical choice.

Aren't they heavier though?

Commuting on a fixed gear bike all depends on the terrain around you and how hard you want to ride and how far.

Yeah for me since i live in a pretty flat area i've gone on 20 miles rides on my fixie with no problem. All depends on the terrain and how good a shapeyour in as well.

-sand paper the OG paint off
-apply a few primer coats then let dry
-apply spray paint coats then let dry

less hassle if you just powdercoat

Its just the angle that your drops are at that make them look funny.

Its been asked a few times, but I'll answer it again. Spray paint will work fine. For the best results you need to sand, primer, paint, then clear.
Also sometimes if the primer and paint are not the same brand the paint comes out messed up.
Take your time, rushing = failure
Good luck

For painting your bike
Try and get aircraft paint remover.
Its around $10 for a bottle at your local hardware store. My friend and I bought his at Kragen. It'll literally melt away your old paint then just wash itoff and sand it down to even it out.
Afterwards lay down a nice base coat of primer, let that dry. Then hit it with your spray paint.

Remember to use light even coats. Thick coats will run and cause the paint to dry improperly and cause your bike to look uneven.
The key is to let the paint dry for and place as many coats as you feel necessary. Take your time it'll be worth all the effort in the end.

Heres some pics. I forgot my crank puller so we had to just wrap up and tape the cranks.
