Florida School Shooting, Over 20 Casualties

Man killed in apparent accidental shooting at Cypress gun range, deputies say

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, it all started when an employee was working on a hunting rifle. It went off in what they're calling an accidental discharge.
"The bullet went through the wall of the small range house and struck a patron who was walking through the parking lot," explained Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland.

There was never a convo, just pointing and laughing. We’re all still is disbelief that anyone would say school shootings are like tornados. “But, but, context?” LOL

@a-friend really tried act like "I believe the Earth is round, but I also think that there's compelling evidence that it isn't" doesn't mean that he thinks it's an idea worth investigating and possibly believing (proven by the hundreds of nonsense posts and videos he has in the flat earth thread).

Ok, who’s this for then?
to be frank its to make people in general feel better. its a bandaid. a knee jerk reaction from the "we have to do SOMETHING!" crowd. but the list of things killing kids more than ARs is very long. these shootings are appalling but even then the gun you guys focus on is only responsible for 2.6% (400/15000) of the tragedies you're trying to stop.

again to bring this back home. there are too many loopholes and they need to be regulated MUCH better than they are. but this battle has to be fought in truth and facts, not in buzz words and feelings. because the NRA will not ease up for bleeding hearts and kind words. and the goverment officials will not even be willing to hear an argument not based in facts.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn

and stop with the narrative of this is solely about preventing children from dying, because as it was stated before, handguns kill kids nearly 40 times more just in murders... add in their suicides and ur talking about nearly 80 times more child deaths. cut it out. more kids die from texting and driving every 5 months than how many die from an AR in a year. do not act like this is all about saving children.
Your whole argument is if we can't stop gun violence 100% we shouldn't attempt to reduce gun violence.

I agree hand guns are more dangerous

I agree handguns cause more deaths

So what if handguns cause 40x more deaths

Reducing deaths
From semi automatic rifles is a net positive

Just because you can't stop 90% of gun violence doesn't mean you shouldn't try to reduce the 10%

You're right it not just about the children

It's about all innocent lives

What does this have to do with anything?

You know there are widespread services and laws to battle these things right? People are asking the same for guns

*searches for a place where that was mentioned* i dont want to give my AR up cuz my AR doesnt get up and kill people. the glock to my right doesnt do that either. but both are semi-automatic. and neither compensates for my penis. if i had to get constantly reexamined and tested for my AR id be glad to. If they check my background every year? Cool do it. If there are safety classes I'd have to attend every so often or i have to go get a license for it like a car? Sure thing. by all means. but i shouldnt have to give up things that I like, cuz a ridiculously small amount of people in the nation have died due to its misuse. its as simple as that.

the truth of the matter are handguns are infinitely more dangerous and responsible for WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more deaths than ARs. but continue on with the illogical crusade.

a good observation but an irrelevant one. guns are hardly the only terrible thing the US depends on to keep the economy afloat.

Your incensitivity towards the massacres is alarming and representing of just about every gun nut out there...point is we shouldn’t be dealing with mass massacres every other month...and if destroying all ARs even helps prevent in the slightest, **** your need to shoot it, go shoot a toy gun....so damn selfish man....this is why is impossible to have discussions with gun owners because most just refuse to show empathy.

I'm sure students like going to school without having the fear of a possible school shooting in the back of their mind

Why should they have to give up that peace of mind just because a small percentage of people have fun with guns?

no. people are targeting the smallest denominator of a problem. it would be like instead of "no texting while driving" they say "no answering iMessages while driving a blue car" instead. and theyre calling for a BAN. very different.

The only way to destroy all ARs is to go door to door and take them.

to the 400 people who die yearly from ARs... the remaining 30 million owners out of 330 million americans is not a small %. i get ur sentiment, but its just bad math.

OWNED....the gun debate is simple, one side is dumb as rocks and can’t for the life of them formulate a valid point to keeping their assault riffles, the other side are citizens with morals and compassion, SIMPLE AS THAT.

precisely. and even then, cuz theres no REAL registry, as long as a person says "nope i dont have any" then they leave the house empty handed. thats why ive been saying a BAN wont work. its much smarter to heavily regulate the entire trade and track everything than force everything to be done in the dark. how does this not make sense?

Ok you’re losing me here, so you DO think the ban will help in some way or you don’t?

It also implies mass school shootings only happen with ARs.

correct again. these guys above me arent understanding. you're attacking literally the smallest factor of why a problem is happening saying its in the name of saving lives. you rather catch 2.6% instead of the remaining 97.4? tf? call that cold or insensitive but it is what it is.

Won’t this also not matter because people can just not follow the rules?

Isn't that 11%?

Seems small enough that we shouldn't make concessions to public safety just because that percentage wants to do next to nothing in the way of preventative measures

I don't think the expectation is destroying ARs. Could we stop with the strawman arguments that no one is really saying. The expectation is to decrease the number of ARs in circulation.

You knew that though.

SneakerProSr. SneakerProSr. is the dude that said the US is one of the safest places to live, and that we should be more outraged about heart attacks killing people more than guns. Don't expect logical statements or arguments from him.
