FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

"The top state searching for dressing recipes is Mississippi, closely followed by Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia. But the map for stuffing shows that Northern states like Maine, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Montana are the biggest searchers. In fact, Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana barely search for the term at all."

Proves absolutely nothing other than what was explicitly stated in your copy and paste.

Plus The DC Area is home to many Transplants, so yea that evidence only gives very limited info, at best

I agree

Where I'm from white and black folks use dressing and stuffing both but moreso black folks in my experience

I call it stuffing tho

Yes, I hear both words used by them

I’m white and never heard it called “dressing” until a couple years ago when I went to Thanksgiving at another family’s house (also white). Never heard it growing up from my parents or grandparents. So maybe it’s more of a regional thing than anything else...

I'm white and from NY. Everyone in my family calls it stuffing and they stuff the turkey with it. Legit never heard it called dressing until I moved to NC

My moms family is from the south and they call it dressing. (Shrugs shoulders)

Oh and they call soda pop or belly wash. Lol

^^^ I’ve heard soda referred to as “pop” before, but “belly wash” is a new one for me. I can only imagine how it would go over if I said to someone in CA, “yo, can I get a belly wash?”

For thpse THAT make it on the stove (and not IN the bird)

Do you bake it afterwards?

Yes or No

they say belly wash down south or something? :lol

ive heard it before but I remember it was in a movie or show

If you make stove top brand stuffing, you should always finish it off in the oven to get it nice & done. You’re missing out if you don’t do this.
