FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Whole Foods sells some dill pickle almonds that are my go-to snack.

Not a big chip/pretzel/carb snacker as well. I’m either eating deez nuts, olives, or sundried tomatoes.

Almonds are pretty much the only thing I snack on. I feel like a lot of these flavored ones though are just too strong for my liking. Usually just end up going with the regular lightly salted ones.
Yea, lightly salted is the best out of the bunch. The other flavors are overkill after eating like 5 of them. If they had a "lightly seasoned" version of those specialty flavors, maybe they would be more tolerable.

Although there a bunch of chips and crackers that I love, I try not snack on that kind of stuff as often as I used to in order to cut down on carbs. I’m a big fan of these as an snack alternative -

My favorites are the Sriracha abs Hababero BBQ

Salt N Vinegar joints replaced chips for me.

I used to get sriracha cashews from nature box. ****s are amazing  I gotta sign up again

Fruit snacks are good but I don't think they're any more "semi nutritional" than gummy bears.

We don't normally shop there, but when my son loved fruit snacks, we used to get them from Aldi because they were really cheap & you got a lot of packs in a box.

It's funny how influential other kids are in the lunch room in terms of what one's kids end up liking or not liking.

They do taste good. Semi-nutritional too, not a bad snack at all.
PowerAde/GatorAde is the Kool-Aid of this generation. Not nutritious unless you are replenishing electroLytes, something the majority of folks that drink it AREN'T doing. Glorified Kool-Aid, high in sugar.

And Fruit snacks are candy, nothing more. Don't fall for the hype man, you are smarter than that.

Man Fruit Snacks are candy, I had to explain that to a co-worker last week. She tried to argue me down. Nah, nothing nutritious about them. PERFECT marketing (naming)

I think there was a lawsuit not too long ago by some parenting or consumer protection group against Welch's & other makers about their "nutritional" claims on the packaging. Not sure what became of it. They taste good though...

Reminds me of how much food allergies are prevalent now among kids. My son had classmates in elementary school who couldn't eat fruit snacks because the parents found out their kids were really allergic to the dye in fruit snacks. I forgot what the chemical was called. It was like 6-7 kids that couldn't eat them & products that had that chemical dye in them.

Always thought it was sad seeing the kids at the allergy table in the lunch room... Might as well put a bubble around the table to ostracize them more. My son told me those kids used to get made fun of...

A few of my kids/students ( @nawghtyhare ) are allergic to some wild stuff.

One dude last night didn't bring his EPI Pen to the basketball game, athletic trainer didn't let him play. Dude is allergic to Fresh Pineapples. - Pineapples man.

Another one is allergic, well his tongue gets bumps on them if he eats apples.

I don't know what is the cause of all of this but it IS wild

Man, any Gummy Type fruit snack is vicious. I used to crush these back in the day.

^^^ Allergies are a crazy thing. Can be so random. Plus, they can develop at any time. You can be fine with something your whole life and then become allergic to it as an adult.

One of my god kids (I have 6), has allergies to peanuts, most fruits, tomato, & dairy... There are so many things he can't eat. Makes me so sad for him but he's so chill about it. The great thing is there are a lot of products nowadays to replace those things that are tasty.

I blame flu shots and diet trends. If you don’t travel often or work in close quarters with others get your antibiotics and keep it moving

"Allergic reactions to black pepper seem to be on the rise and symptoms can include stomach cramps, diarrhea, itchy inner ear, numbness of the tongue and just about everything in between (think severe inflammation of the skin, gastrointestinal tract, and respiratory system)."

Lime and spicy is a nasty combination, degeneratecallamerican
It doesn't matter what you think. The combination of Chili/Lime has existed before your mother even THOUGHT about having intercourses, and it will be around long after your body has decomposed.
