FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

If you have a pen or something you should consider ducks.
Or a duck.
Duck eggs are so much better than chicken eggs.

Air fried a boneless breast. Damn good.

Let’s be honest how many folks you know nowadays that’s up to butchering a live animal?

The first question you would have to ask os how many folks you know has chickens besides Azelia Banks.

I only know one (non-chef) person who has butchered a chicken themselves and it was my friend’s Filipino grandma and she’s kind of scary.

It’s more than you think. My neighborhood is very sub-urban and there are like 4 house just within a block of mine that keep chickens. And there’s probably more I don’t know of.

My MIL butchers a goat every year. I don’t have the stomach for it. Most certainly don’t know how.

Got a couple friends that hunt deer in upstate NY that butcher their own ****. Don't think I could bring myself to do it.

I've killed chickens and ducks before and it's rough.
Especially when they struggle when they know it's coming.
Put a squirrel out of its misery once.
Never killed a pig but seen it done plenty of times.

I could never kill a cow unless I was starving.
They're like big dogs

I’ve caught and cleaned my own fish. Been a solid 20 years though. Learned those lessons and kept it pushing

Couldn't be able to kill an animal and eat it, unless if it was the only way I guess.
But if I have to kill animals to eat meat I would turn into a vegetarian

With you, man. I’m not built for that life. I don’t even like the feeling of squishing a big bug. I’m soft, I guess...

I hate insects/arachnids as long as they come into my home, if they're outside I do not want to kill them neither, I even took some pictures of some arachnids
Some of them are impressive, so big we can easily see mandibles and variations of colors...
Arachnids are both disgusting and fascinating, hard to explain it. Very intelligent but their aspect plus their placid attitude kind of scary :nerd:
Oh, that and the fact we often see them when we are not supposed to be in a place like when you wake up to go to the toilets and see some shadow on the wall in your visual field.
That must play a part.

You other regulars in here watch food/cooking shows on TV? Probably what I watch most behind movies and basketball. Top Chef, Chopped, Triple D - good stuff.

Ever since Diners Drive in and Dives premiered, I feel as if food and cooking shows have taken a nosedive aside from chopped.

I like Cutthroat Kitchen for the sheer *******.

DDD is cool to find places where you can eat like you hate yourself.

**** That's Delicious was like a youthful Parts Unknown. Shame it's done.

Speaking of, Bourdain will always be the GOAT food/travel guy.

Love me some Gordon Ramsay. Kitchen Nightmares, Master Chef, Hell's Kitchen, F Word. BBC versions are always better, but the American versions really satiate my cravings for **** TV.
