FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Does the concept of a stuffed pepper exceed the experience of it?

It looks nice and all but usually people cut it and end up eating it as "stuff" AND "peppers."

Never had it, never had the desire.

It always LOOKS cool though

If it is done right it will be one item in the end. Cut through the whole thing to eat it.

That is what I am referring to, it is usually cut up and eaten the same way someone would make sauteed peppers + meat/rice/Items.

So I was wondering if the concept of looking at something goes out of the window once you start eating.

Could you not say the same thing about any food once you start chewing it?

We eat with our eyes. How it looks on some level affects how much we enjoy it. Big reason we all aren't eating porridge for every meal or blending steaks and veggies into a smoothie to save time.

You could say that about alot of things that have more "structure" to it. I am speaking on things that have the "build on" nature of presentation.

Sandwiches have structure to them, but we generally don't take them apart and eat the items separately.

Same with Lasagna.

But I specifically brought this up with stuffed peppers because that is what I usually see.

And everything you said about looks/presentation, I acknowledged that in every comment I made about stuffed peppers.

Joyrulbee also sounds like how ppl mock Asians speaking badd English. Always throwing Rs in words.

Yuca/cassava cake for my little guy:
Yuca/cassava
Pumpkin
Nutmeg
Coconut pulp
Coconut milk
Salt
Cinnamon
Vanilla

Came out ok, not as great as how my mom did it. Her directions over the phone kinda sucked. Lol. Think she did that on purpose.

If you have a Trader Joe's near you, these things are like an exact replica of Chipotle tortilla chips with the salt and hint of lime :nthat:

DAMN I was just reading an article on MSN regarding Trader Joes. Wife normally makes the trips there, however the can wine they have is a MUST. They come in a 4 pack and have 3 different flavors, rose, white, and red. I will certainly have the wife add these to the list, next trip.

Have her add this too while you're at it. Best spinach and artichoke dip I've ever had. I usually add diced tomatoes and put them on top. Always gets good reviews at football parties and get togethers.
