FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

I don't care.

All I'm saying on this matter is if trill hasn't heard "fried hard" then he's probably heard extra cridpy.

Nobody is discussing that though.

He also hinted that he wasn't aware of the modification/request of extra crispy.

He even indirectly asked if it was a question asked by the server, "It isn't a steak." "If they asked me, I would say correctly."

So the concept of it all appeared to be foreign to him, not just the terminology of Fried Hard

Exactly.

plenty of folks from the South use the tsrm.

He just hasn't been exposed to it, and that is ok. It is just food, not a big deal
There’s a difference here. Fish has more coating options. People don’t beer batter or cornbread chicken. I would argue fried hard means cook longer, extra crispy is a different recipe.

Going to Seattle for work for the next 3 days. I’m already expecting great coffee but hoping to come across some solid food options

I can recommend a whole bunch of spots to eat at but what type of food you trying to eat?

I didn't mention fish, but I understand and wouldn't debate what you said here.

I think the general point, as the consumer, is simply requesting a crunchier skin than the default setting.

We weren't discussing the cooking science behind it

Black pepper part 2? :nerd:
While long and drawn out, the black pepper argument was a lot more warranted. That argument was based off of someone making a dubious claim, everyone asking "how do you know that?" and him losing his **** because he couldn't back up what he was claiming.

This is just a dumb semantic argument as far as I can tell.

Never had fried snappers, I always get it BLACKened or grilled.

Whiting, catfish, I usually do fried (hard).
Fried snapper is hit or miss. Sometimes folks are trash with seasoning and sometimes they don't remove bones. I usually get catfish fried as well.

I’m gonna be alone most of the time so I’d say preferably low key food. I don’t like sitting in fancy joints by myself lol
